I really like the fuel versatility of the Multi in my Deuce, but the Cummins in my 5 ton sure has power.
Regarding sugar sand: 5 Ton with 1400-20 singles does MUCH better than Deuce with 900-20 duals.

RE: Re: RE: DeskTop Icon?
Okay, I finally got it.
I finally asked my wife, which I really hate to do. For 20 years I've had her convinced I know everything!
Had to right click blue bar at top of screen, select restore. Page got smaller, revealing part of desktop.
Put arrow (which changes to a...
Sorry to say I haven't started on the Mighty Mite "kit" yet. This working for a living really sucks.
When I get the parts sorted out I'll take some pics.
Thanks for the interest,

John,
I know a lot about guns, dogs, beer, & women. Don't know sh-t about computers.
Be more specific please.
If I right click on the SS banner I get a list of choices, but none are "create icon".

I put the front bumper up against an Oak tree, put the T-case in low range, put the trans in first gear. Gave it throttle & eased-out the clutch. The 1400-20's dug in.

Gimpyrobb wrote "You can hook up hoses from the deuce's glad hands to the 5ton's glad hands to get brakes."
How does that work?
I know the M813 has front gladhands, but don't understand how the towed vehicle's brakes can work without the brake pedal being depressed.
Could you add glandhands to...
It's got a new air filter, tires are at 50. I haven't adjusted the valves.
Last valves I adjusted were on a '63 Studebaker Hawk, but I'm sure I can handle it.
Truck starts instantly & runs really strong.
Would a turbo really improve mileage?
Thanks,
Eric

I keep reading where guys are getting 10-12 MPG in multifuel Deuces. The best I've ever hit was about 8 with desplined front hubs & traveling at 45 MPH.
I'd like to try turning the fuel down, but need some help.
How can I tell the "best" setting for this engine (non-turbo) ?
Can I damage...
I guess 6TLs are necessary if you want original equipment, but my M813 with the Cummins 855 cube engine does just fine using two group 31 batteries. About $75 each.
I sometimes have to crank it quite a while in the cold weather, & the batteries have held up.

RE: Re: RE: Abnormal 3-lever light switch
I remember replacing a three-lever switch on a Deuce in 'Nam, for just that reason.
The Senior Chief said it was broken.

What about it guys?
Any source for the seals?
Anyone else think putting a tube in is a better idea?
I really don't like driving without a spare.

I know this was discussed before, but I can't find the info.
The mounted spare for my M813 doesn't hold air. Before I go to the trouble of unloading it from the truck to look for a leak, I thought I should get a spare seal that goes between the wheel halves. 1400-20 20-Bolt wheels.
Anyone have a...
Phil (Beaubeau),
Was that an Army junkyard in DaNang in'68? I thought it was a Marine yard, but I'm not sure.
We scrounged a lot of stuff out of that place. I seem to recall Onan light-plant engines were a favorite for go kart builders. When the generator portion would fail, they'd get junked...
