had the same problem.... its your ignition points and advance.
replace points and adjust advance and it will run fine..... i replaced with a electronic ignition has never run better i think
ive had some problems but not too many........ if you email a copy of your pictures/DL/ ect you have a copy of the email in your sent box. Ive used that to keep me out of hot water a few times. Its allot easier to make your point when you forward them a copy of all the emails you sent with all...
I didnt place this in the M715 section because the same directions can be used on many different vehicles but moderators you can move it if you want too i dont mind........ Dave
I just installed a Petronix Ignition system in my M715 but the same type kit works for m-38, m-37, M-38A1, M-151, M151A1/2. I also installed a similar system on my Unimog 404 and the instructions were still the same.
The M-715 system fits entirely in the stock distributor and uses the stock...
I have used and/or owned both extensively....... the Mog is much better hands down without a dought. I had a Unimog 404 which i believe was one of the best engineered vehicles( not just military) that ive ever owned. While a bit underpowered it always did everything i asked of it.
There was...
man alive.... i knew i should have bid higher.... congrats on the 13 they should resale really well for you. I wanted a really strange project and they dont get much odder than a SEE.
I like the work you do on the trucks i see them on ebay all the time. Its a good way for new guys to catch...
although after owning a Mercedes 404 i cannot say anything negative about german engineering. That truck is an absolute masterpiece. With the exception of the throwout bearing its perfect in my opinion
I will have to say Victor you probably have much more experience messing with eastern block vehicles than i do. When comparing apples to apples between a Zil/Ural and a military 5 ton I still believe the Russian Block vehicle is superior for battlefield reliability if not overall reliability...
are you kidding the Ural and Zil wrote the book on battlefield reliability. They are still driving them everyday in afganistan that were left over from the occupation in the 80's. The entire truck was designed to be driven through russian swamps and snow by conscript army privates. Ive never...
why make the decision. With running driving m35a2's going for around the 2500 mark why not get another one. Or something similar like a M109 and make a camper out of it or something. My wife would probably balk at having two trucks that were so similar so I would make one a bit different just...
i like the sleeper idea, it hasnt been done here on a m35 or five ton chassis. A guy did a great build with a milspec road tractor with a drop axle but this would be simplier. I havent been to seal beach in years but in the high desert you used to could ride around quite a bit..... so long as...
I have had many jeeps and many trailers and own two jeeps and a M101 trailer now. Please dont do this, it wont be safe. The amount of modification necessary to make this work will make it not worth the effort. The tongue weight is too high its going to put tons of stress on a suspension and...
we used a 8-ball logo in Iraq for our platoon callsign. stood for 8th platoon. probably the same thing. If it was an army truck there is no telling what it means. the army is really fond of silly logos.
i live just north of them and after talking to them a few times about this or that ive found that ANYTHING M35 related is through the roof. Usually for anything else you need to go to the yard and go searching around and have the guys give you a price on something you find. They wanted something...
ive gotten four generators from GL, two of them mep-003a's. The GL process isnt that bad just pay attention when your filling out the EUC and dont be in a hurry when your waiting for it to clear. They are repairable but parts for the Onan engine can be difficult and pricey when found. They are...
great pics... really like the ones of the lounge chairs and the cold beer beside the stuck truck. Ditto on the 395's but if you had them you probably wouldnt have the fender war wound or neat story. "Your not going to believe how stuck i was" stories are to SteelSoldiers like crashes are to...
well this is the first ive heard of this. I and another list member Snakeeater (and his wife) all used to drive for Arrow. I was a regional flatbed driver, she was a linehaul van driver, and Brian was a Heavy Haul driver. The company "was" halfway decent when we drove for them. There were rumors...
