well then you just call him back and tell him he isnt welcome back to the board until he post the pictures of said bottomless mudhole. Getting stuck and breaking parts is easier to bare if everyone else is allowed to enjoy it
not sure about the Saracen, but we converted a Saxon to an allison and a 6bt at work two years ago. Also did a Mamba to a 4bt and a five speed the same time. It wasnt any harder than any other engine swap on anything and the performance was much better.
you are really really going to want to put an electronic ignition in. The points in a Unimog 404 are awful. I used the stock coil and wires and drilled the distributer for the hot wire. Its going to solve allot of problems you may have or will have.
Chad,
Have you or anyone else figured out how to make the CTIS reliable? All the ones ive seen have ended up deflating one or more of the tires. Ive been wary about getting one of the new M35A3's partly because of it.

the two gunners in with Cat Daddy were old roommates and teammates of mine. Steve Gernet and Casey Casavant or G-man and Rooster to those who knew them. All of them were good people. Last I heard the other pilots brother is still in Iraq flying.
well i appreciate your sacrifice to keep my M715 safe. I think they only made about 30,000 of them. Of that maybe half are still on the road somewhere:roll:.

In regards to the original post, Im also a former "Blackwater Guy" and it is probably my old vehicle. Its a South African Puma and was repowered in country (by some kick-a** diesel mechanics of ours) with a 4BT Cummins and a 5 speed. Our heavier Saxon was repowered by a 6BT with an Allison. I...
congrats on the recovery. I like the hardtop.... dont worry about the rust that happens when the military paints it green like magic. I like the truck... any plans in the works or is she staying stock?
i like the m105's and the all purpose 4-ton (i think) but what have you got planned with the ammo trailers.... I would buy one but dont really know what i would do with it.
just for the fun of it throw a can of Seafoam or so in the tank. The stuff works wonders, at best it might clear out your problem...big maybe..... at worse it will clean everything before you put the new injectors in. Might as well clean the system as much as possible before putting the new...
you could always hire a wrecker service with a rollback to winch it on to the bed then drive out from under it then drive the truck its going on underneath and away you go. If you both drive to the place it shouldnt be more than 50 bucks or so.
