Thanks for the invite. I would love to meet another member in the area as my wife has a friend that lives in Dickison, TX in between Housten and Galveston. She could visit and I could meet you. Too short notice and both kids play soccer, so if you do something this summer PM me...
I think it was amazing that a document shoved in the rear seatback cushion survived longer than I've been around. Since I know it has been through at least one depot rebuild, it probably has nothing to do with my truck. I was born in March of 1964 and the document is dated March of 1961. Wish I...
RE: newbie
Welcome to the site. Brother-in-Law went to Iraq and said they had A/C's in the Humvees, but it was only enough to keep the electronics from getting fried.

I was taking apart my passenger seat to to get the frame ready for painting and came across an oily looking envelope that read " Do Not Destroy Important Documents Inside"
I couldn't wait to open it up and see what was in it. I found some type of shipping manifest from March of 1961. I'm going...
RE: Re: RE: Look! Door and a windshield frame
Looking good Barrman! I was hoping I could keep up, but it is now out of the question. I just painted the door you brought me a week or two ago and got my
headlight stuff painted this weekend...
I don't remember where I saw it, but Diesel is cheaper if it wasen't taxed at three times the rate of gasoline in road taxes. I would love to get a VW diesel if they would do away with the road tax penalty for non-commercial use as they did or do for agricultural use. I can't see paying extra...
I have seen a similar question asked and don't know the answer yet(my top was missing), but you might be able to a search and find out it has already been answered. Is the soft top frame still installed under the hard top...
I like tinkering and it is a lot easier for the wife to handle the $100.00 here and there to buy the $1210 Deuce that I've had for two years and still not finished
with yet. I hope to get on the road this summer, but who knows. I bought because it was close 10M and I was able to limp it home...
Re: RE: I Need A Top!
It should all be in the manuals as stated above, but if youneed photos to help you
I should be able to take some this weekend. My Deuce is not to the point where I can install them yet. PM me if you need the photos.

Unless I win it first!
Everbody asks what I'm going to do with the Deuce, I still haven't figuiered out what I could do with the ten ton, but would love to have the time and money to figure it out.

I always use a hammer impact to remove the stuborn phillips screws. It doesen't work well if attachment threads are on something that may flex like the Fuel tank. If you are trying to to remove one with asolid backing, I would recommend it.
you can get them at harbor freight, sears or probably...
When I first saw a pic of one on this site, probabably the same one I got sick with "big" envy. Hopefully I will have the time and funds to play that big one day If ther are any left.

Try and check any ground straps. I'm not familiar with your vehcle type, but have been working on vehicles since I was twelve and My most aggrevating problems have been ground related. Most GM vehicles have ground straps going from the engine to the body and to the chassis. Some Have had a wire...
