you know its funny we were shooting off our vehicles at work and some dumba** forgot about the difference between the M-4 sights and the offset of the barrel..... put a nice hole right through the hood of a 250,000 dollar armored Suburban. Good to see you had the sense not to shoot your hood, or...
My friends and I are converting a 8 Lug Chevy Rim to the stock axles for an M715. We are trying to get away from the split ring 16" tires and convert to a more standard (and cheaper) 15". The project isnt conpleted as yet ill post an update when they are. Should be a day or two at most and ill...
Bullydog has a propane injection kit. Should be an easy modification for a 24 V no reason why it shouldnt work. Ditto on the turbo. I was looking into doing a propane kit on my Gama Goat to aid in cold weather starting but it doesnt do anything for a naturally asspirated engine.
looks like a machinist garage project.... I like it. dont think it was ever military though. ditto on bringing it to Haspin so we can get it stuck...uhhh i mean look at it.:-D you can race it with those guys who bring the hot-rodded lawn mowers.
the link for Swiss Military Vehicles is www.pinzgauer.com . I havent had any experience with them personally but ive never heard of anyone not enjoying having one. That may be why the resale value is through the roof on one.
I appreciate the help. Im trying to retain as much of the military parts as possible but im looking for some level of comfort. I think the Hummer seat is the way im going to go.
Has anyone ever used a M35A2 Spring Seat in a M715. Ive ridden in haywagons that have a better smoother ride that the truck I just traded for. Its either that or a few leaves may be leaving the spring pack.

hey rottie,
I didnt know you worked at Cherry Point. I was stationed around that area when i was with 2nd Force Recon Co. Ill look you up the next time im swinging through. In fact ill be in the Moyock NC area all next month. We'll have to hook up and go wheeling.:-D
somewhere in between i guess. I take the approach that yes they are historic vehicles but they are also MY historic military vehicle. I like to keep the original look, idea, and capabilities to an extent but heaters and cup-holders rock.
I just horse traded my 1970 Gama Goat for two M715 trucks. I couldnt be happier. I really like a nice project truck and trucks that are done are a bit boring so here we go again. Just as I finished the Unimog another project comes along.....:-D
The yellow hardtop has the stock drivetrain with...
I have a titled Unimog 404 that i had titled, licensed, and insured without any problems. Being its a German Mercedes manufactured for the Swiss Military i dont think it was ever DOT approved. I think the DOT certification is a benchmark manufacturers have to meet for selling new vehicles in the...
Im kinda new at this whole Military Vehicle thing myself and I know you "can" use a deuce or 5 ton as a snowplow, but why not use a M29C weasel and just drive it on top instead of digging through? Wouldnt that save allot of trouble?
