It's in Fort Wayne. About 100 miles. I consider that "local" for me.
Turbo multi, some rust, lots of mud, soft camo cab top. Sprag probably not working. Actually looks terrible. But the engine runs nice. Runs a lot smoother than my 1970 non-turbo. I wonder if the turbo has anything to do with...
Yes I have rocks in my head!
But I am looking at another Deuce coming up on a local auction.....
1966 Kaiser-Jeep. Brakes are not working, but do pump-up a very small amount. I suspect that by adding brake fluid I could get it home 15-20 miles alright.
There is no sticker saying silicone fluid...
Just picked up a new tan vinyl cargo cover kit. I was told it is for a 5 ton dropside.
What would be the differences in that & a standard Deuce cargo cover?
I guess it would be what, 2 feet longer?
Is there a difference in the way the sides tie-down on a dropside?
What I'm wondering is if it's...
RE: More pictures. 1968
You're all very welcome. Thanks to you too.
I wish I had more vehicle pictures to post, but back then they weren't of much interest.
For those of us that served in the military these machines are part of our past, & we can relive it to some extent with these big green...
RE: Re: RE: Good ideas for screw extraction, please
I've had good lock with the special left-hand drill bits sold by Sears. They come 3 sizes to a set.

Now we're getting there. What about turn signals? Anyone know off hand which ones?
I'm setting up my trailer, & all I need are tailights, stop, & turn signals.

Westech had it right!
Pulled the wheels/drum. Everything wet with 90w, brake return spring disintegrated, wheel cylinder boots gone, pistons frozen. Shoes so swollen & saturated you could scrape lining off with a screwdriver.
I've worked on vehicles for 45 years, but have never seen shoes...
On our 1952 M35-
Over the last 100 or so miles, all short trips, the brake pedal has been getting a little higher. It now has about 1/4" travel before brakes lock up.
Any suggestions?
It looks like I may have a leaking rear wheel cylinder, which I can rebuild, but I can't imagine what that would...
RE: Another picture
That's 34052 paint from Aervoe. Went on easily without thinning. Used a cheap HVLP sprayer from Harbor Freight.
Thanks for the compliments.

Another picture
Here's another picture with more of the markings showing.
Frank - Do you really think it needs more?
This is what happens when you give a Marine a few beers, a couple of crayons, & a round-nosed scissors, and say "Stencils? Make your own damn stencils!"

This is our 1952 Studebaker M35 after painting it Marine Corps green.
I know, I know, the markings are nothing like the originals.
Rod, a former Marine, says "I don't care! I want everybody to know it's a MARINE truck".
