I want to thank all again for thier input on answering every quetion I have posted. I know It has to cost somebody somewhere something, just to keep the site up and running. I hope to be able to add as much input as the best of You as time goes by. I would ask that anyone uses this site as much...
Go to my account and select theme. I had the same problem with the TM's . Been a while since I changed mine, but one has a black background and was very easy to see but harder on the eyes in the opposite direction. Try both and compare...
no spark
Thank's Mike. I probably won't give up on it yet. Pissed off most of the day tinkering wiith it and still have no spark. Carefully marked where the magneto mated to the engine, but didn't think to put it on TDC before removing. There is a white paint mark on the gear on the magneto...
Well iinstead of working on the Deuce cab I worked on freeing up the engine onthe shellter trailer today. I was able to get it to turn over but I cuouldn't get any spark. It's probably just as well, because there was a lot of rusty crud that came out of the wet(rusty) cylinder. Maybe I won't...
I got mine last weekend, Thanks Steve(towmnan2277), for being there if I got into trouble. Yesterday I got a co-worker to help me lift the
cover and get access to the generator-motor of the beast. Today I removed all of the plugs and one was all rusted( bad thing). I drained oil/water
out of...
Haven't put alot of thought into it yet .but I thought they had electric pumps that were installed in some cars that would build pressure before starting and would run for a short time after shutdown to keep turbos from coking the bearings...
I didn't look for your info here ,but I found ths link to get info on the M51 and and I see there were links to radio stuff. Hope it helps.

I was thinking about looking at them on my way back from picking up my shelter from wreckermans, but I decided against it when the Suburban started acting funny. From the pictures they look rough.

Thanks Evevebody,
Made it home about noon Monday and everything seemed OK. It started vibrating and surging a little around Gulfport, so We detoured down to
HWY 90 to let it cool down. First time down there since Katrina.

Yeah, my plan is unhook the trailer tommorrow AM and see if the vibration I was feeling were from the old unballanced tires or the tranny. I lost one
about two decades ago(out of town) and it acted very similar.

Made it from Wreckermans to Saraland, AL when the transmission acted funny and decided to call it a day and finish in the daytime. Might have problems tommow making it back to Baton Rouge.

Wow, I'm looking at the date of Your first post and the date today and I don't think I could handle that kind of waiting. On the other hand, I was pretty stressed when I bought mine from GSA and was told I had ten days to remove and it was advertised as nonrunning and no cash for towing...
I haven't had mine that long and only ran it a few times before taking it apart and still haven' figured out what all the stuff on the firewall and under dash do, but when I went to see Mcinfantry's truck I think he had something that released the excess pressure on the air tanks to drain. when...
RE: duce door
I used a hand impact to remove the hinges on mine. I haven't got the pins out yet ,but the plan is to be able to apply heat or drill in the vise instead of tearing up the cab or door.

papercu,
Thanks for pointing out the obvious. It wasn't obvious at he time. I measured about 34". I'm working on the date and will plan on taking a few pic's on the way.
thanks...
Thanks, I'm not sure when I'll try to make the trip, but want plan as much before hand as possible. I will be working around wreckermans schedule and figure a day to get there and assess the situation, hopefully get back in a much longer day with an extra planned off work if something goes wrong.
I just ordered it from northern tool today. If it looks smaller than the one on my Deuce I will proably remove the one from my Deuce and mount it. If anyone knows the height of the hitch on the M105 when sitting level it would help me get all bolted up in advance...
OK, I've purchased one from wreckerman and have to get it home. I've got an 01 Suburban with 5.3lL (1/2 ton ) and towing package. I have purchased a pintle hitch for it and a set ov 12v lights to get it home. Supposably, the unit it weighs about 4K. Twenty years ago I hauled a Friend of my...
