Reusable hydraulic fittings - worth the extra cost?

I need to run some hydraulic lines to various components on my truck. I have deleted the air over hydraulic pump. I am interested to hear opinions on the following: 1. Are reusable hydraulic fittings too expensive to justify? 2. Where do you find best prices? 3. Are these fittings reliable...

I have joined the club ! And yes I have lost my mine !

They copied the Wabasto heater I believe. What I was referring to is the physical layout on base of the heater: the intake / output / fuel.

Colorado Bill SB19-054 RE: (Former) Military Vehicle Motor Vehicle Regulation

My hope is that we can get you guys back on the road ASAP and set a precedent. A precedent of correction of decisions made on inaccurate or limited facts. We all know another state will try similar antics. I hope we can build universal documentation that supports MV's in every state, should the...

LMTV as an RV in California

Yes, nice outline. As an individual you may not be able register in another state, but you are dealing with two different state laws, and the federal laws. If an RV travels to different states and countries, then are you really registering in the state where it is primarily used? Not a lawyer...

LMTV as an RV in California

I could be wrong, but I thought I heard they could not be registered as an RV to get around the issue. You may to register it in another state, like others do. Some incorporate. 49% of Californians surveyed are leaving California in the next 5 years.

Steel vs Aluminum tubing (Camper frame)

Until I looked at the science, I thought plywood was a lame choice for most applications. Sealed in fiberglass or other polymer, this stuff is a beast and relatively light weight, given its strength. With epoxy, you can greatly change the characteristics of plywood. Add silica or fiberglass, or...

Steel vs Aluminum tubing (Camper frame)

If you are not familiar with FRP, I have a lot of questions. FRP are used by most of the major overlanding companies. Global Expedition Vehicles, Earthroamer, Total Composites. Not UV resistant? Where are you getting your info from? I've been researching this for a long time. Years. I speak with...

Worth mentioning - Hidden failures of wires that connect to batteries

Actually the newer solder connectors are pretty impressive. Might have to try them.

Worth mentioning - Hidden failures of wires that connect to batteries

Lol yes silver oxide. My replacement connectors are closed and the wire do touch the tip, but a number of the military ones do not. I will see if I can find one for a picture. I will concede that soldered battery connectors can be used, assuming the correct solder and flux. Most are built in now...

Worth mentioning - Hidden failures of wires that connect to batteries

No, no, and no. IR yes. The wires are full length silver coated. This is done to prevent oxidation of the copper. Once the silver is gone, oxides form and reduce conductivity greatly. None of the wires in the box are bare copper. Not a single connection was soldered. They were all crimped...

Worth mentioning - Hidden failures of wires that connect to batteries

My apologies. I forgot to mention that I recently discovered occult damage to battery and power cables on my truck. I mentioned it in a thread, but some may not see it. I bet there are a lot of trucks out there with low voltage at the dash and throughout the truck. Anyway, I cut one of the...
