I've got a 65HP Case diesel tractor with a 7 foot Bush Hog. I can tell you it takes a lot of power to run the Hog when doing heavy cutting (2" oak trees) but grass & scrub don't faze it.
I suspect it would work, but could be really hard on the PTO.

We've got two deuces, with very "different" brakes.
1952 M35, has great brakes with only about 2.5" of pedal travel & no sponginess at all.
1970 M35A2 stops okay, but the pedal goes down over 1/2 way. I always pump the brakes a couple of times to build up pedal. I don't like it.
I've bled all...
Ace,
You got me thinking. When we first got the gas Deuce, I was fueling it & adding lead substitute. No starting problems.
Lately, my buddy has been buying the gas (thank you) but NOT adding the lead. I guess that could be making a difference.
PM sent too.

Thanks for all the great tips. I guess I'll start with checking the carb float level & timing. I pulled a couple of plugs & they look good.
What TM would have carb adjustments & tune-up specs?

Our '52 gas-engined M35 is hard to start when the engine's hot. Seems to flood a little. Have to crank it a while with the throttle to the floor, then some more with about 1/4 throttle, to get it started.
What do you guys suggest?
Could carb float level be too high causing problem?
Something...
How about some old fire hose slipped over the bows & corners? I know that stuff is pretty abrasion resistant.
Any firefighters got access to some to try out?
I'll try to check around locally.

Interesting info, at least to me.
Been thinking about building a pressure bleeder for a long time. You guys have some great ideas, but I'm always looking for a simpler (cheaper) way to do things. I try to use components I'm familiar with, have on hand, or can get for free. Not sure exactly what...
Anyone got any good ideas about padding the metal bow corners to keep them from wearing through the cargo cover?
Seems there must be something simple, but it's just not coming to me.
Thanks,
Eric
What flow rate is required for the Deuce multifuel? I'm getting a lot of drain oil with water (condensation) in it & am thinking of adding a Racor or similar filter mounted on the deuce as a precaution.
Thanks,
Eric
Bad timing for me.
That's the same weekend as the Vietnam Veterans Reunion in Kokomo Indiana. This is the 25th year.
Said to be the world's largest annual Veterans reunion, with 50,000 expected.
In our little town, we start out at the county courthouse, then march & drive 1 mile to a cemetery.
We'll carry the "Military Moms" in our 2 Deuces. A WWII command car will carry our older VFW Commanders. Will also have a WWII weapons carrier.
Members of our VFW Ladies Auxiliary lead off with a...
Would that be the same old guys that used to smoke rope?
I know this is kinda off topic, but interesting too.
For the younger members, so called manilla rope was often made of hemp (as in pot, mary jane, grass, weed, etc.) which is a fast growing fibrous plant. The hemp was supposed to be...
I have a spare clutch disc & pressure plate with very few miles on them. I'll sell them cheap, but shipping would be costly.
PM if you need them.
