Trying to determine what my deuce is worth ,
It is a 1953 REO M-49 gasoline tanker with
6 cly. gas engine . 1200 gallon tank converted
to water for the fire dept. I purchased it 30 some
years ago with intention of restoration ... but life
got in the way , so now it is time to sell .
The bad ...
I have to move my deuce , it is a 1953 REO
M-49 gasoline tanker , which has the sprag
transfer . it will be towed 4 miles with a heavy
wrecker ,so the front axle will be off the ground.
My question is ; do I need to remove the front drive line before towing ? Thanks , Kris
Also your truck may have a spraqe ( not sure if
spelling is correct ) , unit in it , it kicks in the
front drive axel when the rear drives start to spin
and lose traction .
So always use 1st gear after using reverse ,and
never let the truck roll backwards in any forward
gear with the clutch...
