I'm aware of this document, but the one I'm talking about is in color with more a more "storybook" style, complete with cartoonized snatch blocks and informal language, not the same TM/ FM language. As a matter of fact, you posted a sheet of it on 12-28-10 at 22:15.
I'd like to have both.
I remember reading when this was first posted that the link went to a scanned document circa 1950s-60s. Clicking on the link just goes back to a list of current threads. There's even one page from this later in the thread.
Can you repost the document/ link?
I'm looking for batteries for a M1009, so I need the unthreaded top posts. I checked around and found out the following:
Interstate of Central Va (15422 Pouncey Tract Rd. Rockville, VA) - This is the Richmond, area. No top post 31's in stock. Check back at the end of the week. Hit or miss on...
I'm illiterate when it comes to car batteries and electrical systems in general. So, when I'm calling up my local Interstate distributor, what should I tell him I'm looking for when asking about these so-called 31 refurbs? Or is it as simple as asking that?
Whatever it is, the title at the top says "Ispitanya 05". I don't know if that's a place or what, but googling it didn't really show much. He's got other videos of the same vehicle with different numbers at the end.
As I muddle through the TM -20 and this post (very helpful BTW) I think I'm misunderstanding something either in the original post or the TM. The TM refers to the alternator (voltage) regulator as a component on the M1010 only. I'm trying to eliminate this as a possible problem for my M1009's...
Ditto this. Never had a problem getting it to go. Some times take longer than others, but it's been happening more frequently recently, even on the hot Virginia summers. I'm thinking there's something else going on here, but I know if I needed to get it started, I won't have a problem...
Well that's the thing... I don't work on this myself, so I don't really know what I'm looking at. Someone will have to work on it for me.
This was my daily driver. When I put the the vehicle in Drive, it won't move immediately, but eventually it will move slowly. The engine is revving, but I am...
I thought I'd bring this thread back up instead of starting anew... I put my 1009 in gear one morning this past weekend and it wasn't moving much, so I called up a couple of transmission shops. I brought it into one here in the east end of Richmond and they found some metal shavings in the pan...
Yes, John Winslow is where I bought the CUCV. Pete and the rest of the folks there are very nice and responsive but the location is not exactly convenient. I can take it to them if absolutely necessary, but I'd like some place a little closer.
I guess that's when the 3/55 AC comes into play... 3 windows down, 55mph. Either that, drive the regular car, or just drive it on Fridays and weekends.
I'm not worried about the rest of them- I haven't had anyone criticize or hate on it yet. All complimentary so far.
Is there anybody else in...
Hi,
I finally got around to titling and registering my M1009 and felt it was an appropriate time to show it off a little. I got it down at John Winslow's in North Carolina, and they are great people there. While I was there, I test drove a deuce, and I think I could get used to that!
Anyways...
