Update: Fixed. I changed the fuel filters end emptied the tank. 3 new filters and fresh diesel. Runs like a champ. The first filter was rusty nasty, the second one kinda rusty and nasty the last one looked pritty good. A friend of mine told me it was not rust but algae. I will order 3...
Update: Got the fuel filters today but will not have a chance to change them until Saturday. A friend said he though the vent was not working in the tank and it was forming a vacume. I tried it without the cap and no change it still shut off. I did notice it shuts down about the time it...
Update: got a fuel pressure tester and it had the wrong fitting so I opened the drain valve on the fuel filters and the fuel coming out looked good. I then cranked and cranked, no start. I pulled the plug on the fuel line elbow right at the top of the tank. Turned the pump on (with switch on...
I did not replace the hose. It looked good so just re-installed it. I did open the drains on the filters to see if they had fuel in them and the fuel looked good. I will do it again when the sun comes up and see what it looks like. I think I will get a fuel pressure gauge and check the...
That is what I use it for. I have an "s" thing of the end of a rubber bungee strap I hang on the bottom bolt facing in and lower the pipe (flag pole) until the bottom catches it. I have the pipe cut so it is 13'6" from the top to the ground. During parades I worry about the exhaust messing up...
I have a 1970 M35A2. It has run great until we got it home from the Memorial Day Parade. Got it home and it just died. Thought maybe it was low on fuel so added diesel and it started. Used it a couple weeks later and drove it about a mile and it died. Added 15 gallons of fuel. Let the fuel...
Got the radiator back in and the defroster now works. The defroster hose connection above the steering column is a pain. Got new gladhands and shutoff valves installed, new fuel filter and 1 new fuel line. Found a dent in the oil pan (not leaking). Now time to hook up the 105 trailer and go...
Does the fuel go through the forward filer or the rear filter on the driverside of the engine first? I have 2 filters that fit, and look the same but are differnt microns. I want to put them in the correct fuel flow order.
Installed a block heater and attempted to tighten the air compressor belt. Now with the radiator removed I figured I would just replace it and the generator belts too. That is tomorrow's project.
What did I do. Well I drove it about 45min away. Then back into the woods. Loaded the deuce and the 105 trailer with firewood then made the drive back. I was surprised at how well it climbed a hill. When I backed down the hill to one of the trees I was thinking I would have to winch it back...
The back is fine. At the top rear of the door windows it is about an inch to long. It fits all the little twist snap things but between the last (back) one and the vertical part it is an inch to long.
Picked up a M105 trailer from DRMO. In better shape than I expected. Lights even work.
Put in a new headlight and installed a new top on the Deuce. It does not fit quite right but is better than the old one I guess. I also got the wipers working and all the other lights except the parking...
Installed a new driver side door latch so I can get in without climbing over from the passanger side. I also lubed up the window crank stuff. You can roll up the window with 1 hand now.
