:idea:Has anyone ever considered the idea of converting one of these over to a RV? I mean, they're surplus..I KNOW, I KNOW.. and considering such, some are more than likely not in the condition to be used for their original purposes anyways.
I'd like to see the original tank utilized for the...
Sewerzuk,
Now all you need is a surplus fuel tanker trailer, converted into a towable RV, with 53' XMLS on it. That way you can camp on the beach in a improvised shelter.
You'd have to keep the "hatch" though, cause that'd be like living in a sub and just too cool!
OK... for starters... WHY ARE YOU GOING TO SELL IT?
Stick with the Winter Camo scheme, and if you have or know anyone with a M998 ambulance shelter put that on it. Looks like the rear axle would fit in the wheel well.
Then you've got a instant Winter Camo'ed 404 Camper.
Awesome.
I was thinking about what kind of labor would be involved in making one a road worthy RV.
Would provide to be a intresting venture should someone make a business out of that..
Scrapped UH34 Rv's... Hmmm.
Ok... I had this one rattling around for a while...
Do a vertical pintle with a hydraulically lifted arm. Attach it to the passenger side of the headache rack in the bed.
Cross brace it to absorb the recoiling action, and have lock pin plates to secure it at the spindle on the headache rack...
I wouldn't go so far as to make a pass through, you'd have alot of issues with sealing the space between the cab and camper, not to mention any frame twist would ruin that concept completely. Not only would that be an issue, but when the vehicle is parked when not in use, how'd you secure the...
Something like in this second pic. But make it a quad cab, that would be intresting to see.
I see alot of exterior pics of stuff, but nothing really of an interior for a slide-in/M109 or 185.
As far as the guy with the tan $140k M35a3, I think if he was gonna price it that high, it'd have...
Wreckerman,
Yeah, I've read ALOT about the S280's and the ability to snug'em in the bed. But personally I like the M109. Windows are a necessity when camping.
The down side with the S280 is it necessitates installation and removal, which most people want. But in the event that you want a...
Sewerzuk,
You know this requires some serious action shots, right? I mean it's all fine and dandy that you got it out of the shop and snapped a few of it with the lights on... But, in order to fully appreciate the illumination values i think WE need to see some wheelin'.
If your serious about the swap, give STEVENS TRANSPORT INC., in Dallas, Tx. a call, they CONSTANTLY rotate their inventory and sell parts from wrecked Kenworth T2000 trucks.
Almost everything they have is relatively recent inventory, and they let it go retard cheap!
I used to work for them...
mkcoen, do you have any contact info for them?
I'm just throwing my ability to drive anything out there, to see if I can help someone.
I'm sure it's not a feasable source of residual income, but if I can help someone get their MV, and maybe turn a small profit for myself as well as have...
Shovelheadmike
Correct, they are the long version of the a3, and rare. But I'm saying has anyone given the quad cab, m109van body on a stretched deuce frame consideration?
I think with the quad cabs length the regular long bed could be replaced for a natural fitting m109 van body with...
I read previously in a post about the M36a3, and it's basically a Deuce/5ton with a 18ft bed..
So given the considerable frame length, has anyone ever considered a quad-cab M109van camper M36?
The best of both worlds... Transport the family in 1 MV, and like UncleMikey's setup, have a warm...
Was wondering if anyone was purchasing anything, and needed logistics issues worked out..
I'd be willing to drive your equipment to your home from where ever you purchase it.
Given a few variables.
1. It runs. Flying somewhere commercially with 1500lbs of tools to get a Non-running...
unclemikey,
I love what you've done with your rig, and have been inspired to do something very similar. Do you have any interior pics of the camper itself?
I'm curious to see what the inside of the camoflauge palace looks like.
Do you have any build pics?
