I used my stock axles. I had Ford dually pickup D70U and widened a Dodge D60F to bolt in SOA, but never installed them. I sold them just this past Sunday.
The brake booster was a '78 Ford E250 brake booster and mastercylinder. I redrilled the firewall to match the bolt pattern and used the van's brake pedal as well.
The only modification to the firewall was the removal of the heat shield on the passenger side to clear the down pipe. The motor mount frame horns were made out of 4x4" 1/4 wall with a 45deg angle cut. The top of the 4x4" square tube was flush with the frame rail. My photobucket has pictures of...
If you get the narrow ones like mine (from a BAE Systems RG31/33), make sure you get new ones in the crate. The used ones have a chance that they had seen mines and may have kingpin damage. The wide ones had redesigned inner C's and are good either way. The rotors are only 1.25" thick, just like...
My axles are out of an RG31 (axletech 4000), but I still need to get rims. Do you know which MRAP rims are the correct RG31 ones? Picture of what to look for? I have s set of 15.5/80R20 XLs, but want something highway capable.
I would put the chevy running gear in the M725 frame instead of swapping the body. The work to put the springs under the frame is a lot less than swapping the body. You could either swap just the motor over with an adapter kit and keep the stock tranny/t-case, or swap everything over.
I have a T600 t-case and 3 matching driveshafts being shipped to me. They were used in MRAP vehicles. The one on ebay is from a BAE Systems RG31. I have a set of Axletech 4000 axles out of one as well. The yokes are unique and take a 1480 ujoint.
