Wick246,
I did see the rule about roll bars, but in the FAQ's it says you don't need a roll bar if you have the original "cab" on a truck!
That's why I called them for a clarification! It has to be a HARD cab, not a soft cab!
Oh well, we can always go back to Haspin, they didn't seem to care...
Well, I just talked to the folks at Badlands on the phone, and it looks like this isn't going to work! [:(!] :skull:
If you have a soft top, you have to have a roll bar!
This will elliminate this park for consideration! :skull:
It sure sounded like a...
Renato,
Welcome to Steel Soldiers! Your truck and your travels are truly amazing!
We would welcome any additional pictures and details of your adventures!
I added your location to your signature, and if it not correct, let me know, and I will correct it!
Fred Rader and Elohim1,
I want to take this opportunity to thank you guys for being the scouts and trail bosses, for our first rally! [thumbzup]
There is another Indiana location being considered for next year also. When more information becomes available, the...
Soldiers,
I have it on great authority, that the best time to come to Indiana, is in the Fall! That is the only way to avoid the heat and humidity.
The second or third week of September, would be a good place to start!
Recovry4X4,
We had three Deuces, a Unimog, a souped up Jeep Cherokee, an M1009, and an unstopable CJ-2A!
I'll let the owners chime in with which one's they own.
My M37-B1, is still a work in progress.
WAHOO!
What a great rally! I got home at 3:00 P.M. (CST) from the rally. It was a blast!
This was more like a family reunion, than a get together of strangers! There was lots of food, nobody broke anything (trucks or bones), and everyone had a great time!
There will be a ton of pictures...
Hapin Acres update,
There is pleny of mud available for all you "mud puppies"!
The weather is going to co-operate, with low 80's for Friday and Saturday, and only a 40% chance of rain both days! [thumbzup]
I hope we have a good turn out of members for our first Steel Soldiers Rally...
Junkyard Wars Crusher,
Sorry that you can't make it, but we do appreciate the offer for help if it's needed! [thumbzup]
Next year will be bigger and better!
da_sgt,
Do you know the history of the CCKW hardtop on the M37?
I am not sure if the hardtop on my 63' M37-B1 was installed by the Army, or if it was installed by the Fire Dept., that used it as a brush truck?
Chris,
Westech and I are planning on being there "about" 1:00 P.M. (E.S.T.).
There are just two of us coming from West side of the Great Lakes!
I have some technical manuals for sale for the M35A2, and I will have them with me for those who are coming to Haspin!
It looks loke the weather...
CGarbee,
Your excellent Website and willingness to help other members of the Military Vehicle family, hasn't gone unnoticed!
You deserve an attaboy! [thumbzup]
Keith,
There is an added bonus to the excellent Website! Mr. Garbee is a true gentleman, and will answer any questions that you might have!
I have relied on his expertise in the past and found him quite knowlegeable! [thumbzup]
Fred Rader,
GIANT MUD HOLE! OH NO ! :freaked: what will we do!
Seriously, it looks like Indiana will get the rain from Hurricane Dennis, from Monday, all the way through Thursday! [:(!]
Deep water fording kits will be required! :skull:
Haspin Trail Riders,
What type of vehicles are going to be at Haspin? It would be nice to know what everyone is bringing!
I hope there will be a good turnout of members and their rigs! [thumbzup]
CGarbee,
The NATO NDT is manufactured in Israel, and we are working on finding a stateside dealer.
Alliance Tire is the manufacturer, but the dealers mostly carry agriculture tires!
If I get any information, I will pass it on to you!
I have enclosed a picture of the NATO NDT!
