Really nice looking fix. I haven't removed my battery box yet, any trick in doing so? Any release mechanism to know about? Thanks!

Why is taking 12v from one batt bad?

Seafire, would say the Optima batteries are good replacement batteries for the two in the deuce? I need to replace mine and I am looking for cost efficient recommendations. Thanks.

    Gel filled tires?

Gel filled tires - another question Thanks for the comments. Do you know if there is anyway I can remove the tire off the rim with the gel filling inside to save the tire and replace the gel with a tube if I choose?

    Gel filled tires?

Thanks again Hoop and all Thanks Hoop. What would be your best guess at max speed. I rarely hit 50 mph because I am running around town. I also never haul any loads, I just enjoy the truck and the time having it in parades to show support for my son's JROTC. Any other concerns or words of...

    Gel filled tires?

Thanks for the inputs Thank you everyone for the inputs. I never take my deuce out on the highway, mostly just cruising around town at 35 - 45 mph speeds. Anyone think this will be a problem as Hoop mentioned? I just want to be cautious here.

    Gel filled tires?

I picked up a couple of used tires on rims today (9.00-20) to replace the badly weather worn front tires on my deuce. I tired to test the air pressure in them with a tire gauge, but couldn't get a reading. The tires feel solid and are definitely heavy, the guy I got them from told me they might...

Don't think I can make this, but I am curious... are there any MV swap meets in OK or KS?

    Troop Seats Blueprints/Plans?

All, prior to posting this I searched and read threads associated with troop seats and did not see what I am looking for... does anyone have or know where I can find the blueprints or build instructions to make a set of troop seats for my '71 deuce? I found TB9-2320-209-30-4, but it really does...

    Hard Steering...?

Thanks for the pic Korpi, I will keep searching, I feel I want to go the 395 direction with rims other than stock, I don't I can pick up a power assist anytime soon, but I hate to past up a good deal on some 395s. Anymore pics, keep um' coming, they surely help. Too bad you are all the way in...

    Hard Steering...?

Thanks ted korpi - do you have power steering or air assist for your steering?

    Hard Steering...?

Thanks for the reply 'kc5'. Do you have air assisting steering? I would really like to hear from more of my MV peers on this. How many have 46" tires without any air assist and what do they think?

    Hard Steering...?

All, I am really considering putting 46" Michelin tires on my '71 deuce, I have seen pics of 46" tires on deuces where the hubs were not flipped and it looks fine to me and I will probably not flip mine. What I am trying to find out is this.... Q: Do the meater/larger 46" tires make steering...

Do we have an official Bobbed Deuce picture thread? If not, here it is! Post em!

Cool pics everyone. I am wondering though, I see a lot of 46" tires on the trucks and I am thinking about putting some on mine. I am not so worried about potential rubbing as I am concerned about it being more physically harder to turn/steer the truck. You already have to muscle these trucks...

To flip or not to flip hubs

Thanks wbdodgeiv, let me clarify... is it physically more difficult to steer with the 46" on without any power steering or air assist? The trucks don't really have a good turning radius as it is, do you feel the radius has been enlarged, you have to turn wider? I am just trying to get an idea...

    Battled Damaged A10

A10 Re-wing All, I love these A10s as well, they are a well built machine, we are actually working on overhauling the aircraft and putting complete new wings on them as well as other upgrade packages. They will be around for a while. [thumbzup]

To flip or not to flip hubs

To Flip or Not to Flip Hubs Wbdodgeiv / Sp00n - how have the larger tires affected your steering? My deuce is a 71' w/o power or air assist steering so I am wondering if the meater/larger tires will make steering difficult. What about the turning radius, can you make a simple right hand...

To flip or not to flip hubs

Good pic jfnemt1ff1. I am thinking about replacing my stock tires with Michelin 46"s and I'd like to not have to flip the hubs. I think the tires look fine on your truck. My question is how does it track down the road and how did the larger 46"s affect your steering? My deuce is a 71' w/o...

    Injection pump oil lines

Been there, Done that All, I recently went through this IP oil hose change and documented it in a post back on 12-09-2010 'Newbie Seeking Help - Leaks'. I too had a hose made locally which looked just like the picture in this post (I had the hose coming off the engine block to the IP made.)...
