I agree, it is disgusting how wasteful it is. I, personally, don't want one but that doesn't mean they should sell a 50K vehicle for 1000 each bucks as scrap aluminum, then they sell them in huge lots so the individual can't afford it.
I like my dodge also, i picked up 2 M880's on the same...
No, the first one was at Pendleton during 'drivers training' and they said the Hummer is too stable to roll, so he did his best! LOL
The other 2 times, one was a dry creek bank crumbling under him and then he was going to fast in a turn and hit a variation in the sand/ a runoff gully, or clump...
I'm a Marine also, Yes, the motor pool did proper maint and on time. But I also have First hand experience driving, and watching others drive them, one friend rolled a Hummer 3 different times; the first time was on purpose and the other two were while he was playing around the desert in Yuma.
Its a junk truck, Marines never take care of their stuff... ;-)
J/K, I checked out that truck when it was up for sale but I had other places that needed my money a bit more urgently. There is a lot of info on here about almost anything you could do with the trucks. Good Luck!

I know there is a PS Pump&box in the 78 I'm going to tear apart, I can't use it in my 77. I'll have to go visit my brother in Ohio and swing by your place with the parts I have. (his sister-in-law is nice to look at also!) I am hoping to get out to the yard next week and can let you know what...
Thats what I have been hearing on here and IRL. I think I'm going to take the advice of others that have been there and done it. Leave it stock for now, grease it up well and when something goes South, then worry about it. Thanks, I appreciate the input!
Thanks Mathew!
So doing the mile high mod to the T-case will make it part time 4wd, but doing the hub replacement mod will further reduce the drag (and MPG loss) of having the whole front Driveshaft turning? Plus it replaces the bearings that seem to be a weak spot on these axels?
I think I...
Please forgive me but I don't understand why you would put in locking hubs and do the MileHigh T-Case mod? (or other) why not just do the T-Case mod? wouldn't that make it part time 4WD?
I could use a 360 with the 4WD tranny to rebuild and swap out if you know where i could source one. I just don't like having my truck out of commision. :-)
You are in Luck! The W100 is a 78 so it is the wrong box, the warlock (nice dash, bucket seats, Misc but a 318 not the 360) is providing a lot of my interior needs but my brothers 880 is still the stock steering. He has gotten used to it over the past 70K miles but once he drives mine, I'm sure...
Thanks Rebel, thats the kind of info I was looking for, an opinion from someone thats been there a few times. ;-)
A quick question about another 'part'. Do you know if the 727 transmission from a '77 2wd half ton is the same as in the M880? or did they change the bell/rear nose/??? on them...
You seem to know quite a bit, Nice to know those with an Encyclopedic memory ;-) Mind if i Give you a quick test?? Will the PS pump/gear box from a '77 red wagon/warlock fit my M880?
I know there are 'differences' between the D and W models, just not getting decent returns on searches. I'm in...
" tube gets rusted holes, and the sender quits working. The cab/bed removal is self-explanatory but involves removal of lots of rusted fasteners."
No, I think you misunderstood me. I have a Dodge M880. Dodge put an antirust coating on them so there Wont be any rusted fasteners and stuff to deal...
I know there are guys looking for these in good condition to restore them. I am not going to go that far (or expensive) but I don't want to ruin any future value.
Does it matter if the Numbers match? I'd like to rebuild/refresh something then swap it out, that 'plan' would mess it up if I sold...
LOL But all the videos make it seem like a weekend job! J/K But they do make it seem like a breeze, maybe they just don't want to Vid the cussing and knuckle busting.
By 'fuel Pickup' you mean an in tank fuel pump or the fuel level gauge?
I have copied all the TM's but they don't give you any...
Hi Guys, just using the down time and deep Sub-Zero temps here in MN to do some planning for this spring/summer. I have a '77 M880 (duh) and although I don't have the time/money to do a real restoration, I would still like to pull the cab and box off this summer and Por15 the frame and...
