Well guys sad to say I sold Sarg I was basically tired of being so slow. So sold it and went out and bought a 2006 Gto. I will eventually have another military vehicle. So I plan on hanging around.
I also just realized I didn't include the double yolk drive shaft from a 70's Cadillac with...
Well guys their shall be no more tinkering with it. I threw it on cl and a guy came and snagged it up. I loved driving it. But the lack of power and getting out of its own way or lack of I just got tired of. Was a blast. I am still planning on picking up a deuce eventually. So I will hang...
Ok guys I got the timing adjusted just took some elbow grease. About to take her for a spin but still seems to smoke at idle. I'm wondering if the fuel has possibly been turned up any and maybe this would cause excessive smoke.
Thanks for the suggestions will check it out hopefully today when I wake up(work nights). Yea its horrible going up any kind of incline
Said screw it while drinking my morning sleep aid lol. The timing was a hair or two to passenger which is retarded. SO I shall advance it slightly and see...
Ok guys added diesel only to it. Does seem to run better. But all of power is not there . Also yesterday it started to idle a few hundred rpm higher in park and in gear. I did notice I may have a leaking fuel line slightly at the filter. So gonna look into that maybe air leak causing trouble.
I bought a civi diesel drive shaft from the salvage yard, as I keep having problems with my custom double slip yolk one. The u joint caps were so much smaller than mine. I bought the correct ones and it fit perfect. Not sure if this helps or not
Oh one thing I did forget to add is when I changed the fuel filter I didn't prime it. I kept trying to crank it. Then primed with w80 and she fired up.
Well down to a 1/4 tank, gonna let it drop a bit more then add in some D2. Been reading some people had problems clogging the injector nozzle running too much bio diesel. Who knows.
Huh I will try this next time it's raining. Mine seem so stupid slow, low is like waiting on grass to grow. High speed is like praying nothing is in you're way until the wiper comes back by hahahaha.
Well longest drive is usually 10-15 minutes to be honest. Mostly a in town vehicle as I don't leave town much lol.
Doing more and more research I have found cases where some got a bad batch of w80 and caused white / blue smoke and loss of power, they ran the tank out then pure D2 and no more...
Replaced fuel filter already. Seemed to be the same maybe smoke more after the switch. A bad batch could be possible. Hopefully this goes away. I bought a hydrometer to help test the w80. So will test it when it comes in. I will test the gps again with that method.
Drove her to work today. Sitting at idle shes throwing out smoke more than usual. But not much when running other than st start and full throttle. Maybe it's normal **** I don't know don't have any comparison to go on
Ok if I take my volt meter and ground one end attach the other to the plug in for the glow plug I get nothing at all. Seems maybe a bad controller, but if this was the case the truck wouldn't start right?
It cranks great, once the wait light is off(which is usually pretty quick) I turn the key...
Ok with glow plugs still installed I checked resistance. Everyone gave me right at 1.3 ohm. Which seems fine since the tm says 1-3 is optimal. So at least this is good. Now to test for power to plugs. Will report back
