Picture of the air ride seat I put in.
Some of the crew hanging out on the trip.
Proof it made it, we do not have palm trees in Kansas.
And that is where she is right now.
I need a better turbo and turn up the fuel before the next trip.
New 22.5 shoes and no two piece wheels.
My air distribution block. Quite a mess but it feeds a bunch of stuff. I threw an air horn on there last minute. Could not find a good way to mount it so zip ties it was.
Here is the hitch mounted up. She worked great towing 10K.
Loaded up, just...
Time for an update. I got it finished enough to make a 3,000+ mile trip in it across the country. The traveling part of the trip was pretty uneventful. I did learn a lot about the ole girl along the way though. I ran her across the scales empty right before I loaded up and left, 20,750lbs is...
It is cold today and we are supposed to get some snow soon. So I stayed inside and built the new wiring harness for the rear lights. It is a 50' 16 wire harness of varying gauges. This will power all the rear lights, the trailer plug, and the rear camera.
It is all in 3/4" split loom and...
Been busy working on the bus. Not must to see in the form of progress though. Cleaned it and removing little things. Had more parts come in also.
Got the hitch welded up and ready to go. Got the new front tires in and mounted up on the rims. Will have them all installed on the bus next...
Cut up the new hitch to start the process of making it fit.
Decided to remove the ramp from underneath. I am not putting it back.
I did not get as much done today as I wanted. Life has a habit of doing that to me. I got the hitch put in a large band saw and cut down to the correct width I...
Noticed I never mentioned what the rear A/C motor is. It appears it is a Mitsubishi L3E. It looks like peak power is between 14.5 and 20hp. They can spin up to 3600RPM.
Engine type Water cooled
Cylinder arrangement In-line
Number of cylinders 3
Bore x Stroke...
Worked on the bus this weekend. Did the very labor and time intensive mid roof markers lights on both sides and the drivers turn signal. Replaced the weather stripping on all the enclosure doors. Had some parts come in but it looks like I only took a picture of the taillight converter for...
Got some work done today. Got the front shocks installed and changed the diff fluid. Also has some parts come in today. New reflectors and a LED turn signal relay.
Got some more work done and had more parts come in.
74oz of ceramic balance beads and 60' of butyl rubber tape.
Got the new...
Weather was **** this morning so I was not out working on the bus. Figured I would rebuild the Sprague M-554 air push wiper motor. Sit at kitchen table and started to pull it apart and everything was going fine. Rebuild the control valve assembly first. Move onto the piston assembly next...
Had some stuff pop up today so I only got a few hours to work on the bus. Got the new bags installed and plumbed up. Installed the new rear shocks also. So the rear suspension and brakes are now finished. I went around to the parts stores in town but none of them had enough tire stems for my...
Air bags are rotted out and do not hold air. So I started working on that issue.
Got them removed last week and ordered the new ones.
Also ordered some new brake lines as the old ones were really starting to look bad. I did not take a photo of the new ones before I installed them but here...
Had another part come in. Worked on the bus a little today. It claims 8000 lumens of blind you in the face, let there be light. The orignal spot light, while still working, was all rusted up and showing its age. This light has some switches in the rear to turn it on or tie it into the...
Got some more work done on the bus. I have the rear marker lights on and semi wired. I have the rear turn, brake, and reverse lights setup on one side. Just need to do the other. I will have two small holes to make a temporary plate so they can be covered. These holes are the old reverse...
Had some more parts show up today so far. Lots of split loom, my ANL fuse holders that accept 00 gauge wire, and a pair of mini ANL fuse holders with fuses.
Had another box show up today. Some 4ga wire.
The 00 and 4ga together.
It was just above freezing today but I was out there cranking...
Well I actually started doing a little work today.
Installed the 7" amber LEDs on the front.
Installed the passenger side LED turn signal. I am rewiring the marker lights and not using the chassis as a ground. Had to remove the window to get the new wire pulled.
Here are some photos of...
Guess I will bump my ancient thread.
Still have not converted it into an RV. I did drive it to Florida and back in March though. I had to spend a lot more then I was wanting to going through her mechanically making her reliable. Anything rubber was either done for or was about to be. Changed...
