I just got this 1962 404.1, and a previous owner had done the civilian ignition conversion with the Pertronix coil, and module. Both are being fed 24v. My question is, is that ok, or should they be fed 12v? They had also installed an electric fuel pump, and it was fed from the same source as the...
The further you stick a wheel out from the center of the spindle, the more load you place on both the spindle and bearings, that neither were engineered for.
I personally, would get the A3, and swap frames out before running spacers.
I forgot to add, that the only successful method I have ever found for getting out of a sway, is to give it full throttle, then slow down considerably once the sway stops.
As someone who tows vehicles on a home built tilt trailer, with no brakes, sway is something that you do not want. Something that I have learned, is that the lighter the tow vehicle, the more weight is needed on the front. Try towing an 80 camaro on a 1500lb trailer behind a chevy s10.
These are very good firewood trailers, which is the main reason I bought mine. 2 months ago I brought home a load of aspen, and my M101 pulled very well with it filled about a foot above the racks, and my f250 stacked as high as I could.
Do you mean swaying side to side? If so, your tow vehicle is too light, and you will need to add weight to the front of the trailer to help eliminate that.
