Thanks for the help swbradley1 I have read both these threads as well as several others that had some helpful information. I'm going over to my Dad's farm to work on this again today. I think I'm pointed in the right direction.
Would it automatically reset when reattached? Does it work by shutting down the fuel pumps when triggered? I am refering to a box with 2 latches on the bottom that is on the opposite side of the engine from the starter. It appears to contain glow plugs and/or block heater.
I thought maybe I had a bad breaker. When it popped the 15 amp I switched it back to the 7.5.
After I reinstalled the 7.5 amp the fuel pumps were running. I disconnected a plug that goes into the bottom of the air box, and attempted to start it, the fuel pumps did not run but it cranked...
I have been trying to run down a short on a mep-002a that I just bought. It is popping cb when when in start position after roughly 5 seconds. I switched 15 amp from main electrical box with the 7.5 amp in control panel and it started and ran for 20 seconds then popped cb. I disconnected...
The Yokagawa is yc/24250anan I bought mine from peach state instruments in Marietta Ga. It is 2.5 inch (3 inch would be better).
I don't know the number of the number of the Hoyt. http://www.battlegradeelectric.com/accessories.php
Battlegrade Electric has one on his sight that looks like OEM it is just a 120 volt 55-65 analog meter like the Yokagawa. It is made by Hoyt in the USA and is pricey $200 or so. You can get the Yokagawa for under $100.
Thanks. Do you know why the military chose the complicated expensive transducer and meter when a simple reliable inexpensive meter works fine? I assumed it was because the voltage on those wires changed with the voltage selector switch.
Spedmon can you suggest a good place to hook up a 120 v freq meter in the control box. I was thinking about drilling a couple holes and hooking it to the convenience plug until I read this thread. Thanks
Don't know if this is the right place to ask this question. Does anyone know of a civilian replacement for radiator cap on MEP004A? And if this post is in wrong place let me know where to post question. Thanks for any help.
