Could someone please post on the proper way to wire this generator for a double receptacle outlet, not directly connected to the house. I read to hook L1 and L2 to hot on each receptacle and connect neutral to the frame. Nothing goes to the L0 or L3?
Also, about how many amps can you draw on L1...
The pump has a valve in it that must be used for fuel shutoff/engine stop. The electric solenoid activates/deactivates the valve in the pump. It was really stuck some penetrating oil and it’s starting to move.
I bought this generator at an auction about 10 years ago. It just had a reset with a new diesel engine installed. I changed the filter and fuel and it started right up and ran great. I gave it to my son and it sat for about eight years. I told him a couple times he needs to run it but he didn’t...
Thank you for all the responses.
derf, Did you mean 016E or D?
A 016E is closer to a 016b than a D correct?
Munchies, if you find a cheap solution for this it would be great. Having a couple more 12v batteries around or (1 - 24V) in reserve wouldn't be a bad idea either.
It starts fairly easily with the pull rope but I've only tried it with the batteries installed. It would be nice to be able to run it without the batteries all together if necessary. Is it safe to do so? I don't want to experiment and try it for fear of damaging something.
I believe if it does that you may have adjusted it the wrong way. If you raise the end of the spring that is toward the injection pump it will droop more, become less sensitive and limit the top speed.
I checked and adjusted the droop on my 002 the other day to try and eliminate a little speed fluctuation at no load. I believe the manual said there should be a 1 1/2 hz droop from 0 load to 100% load. That is exactly what mine was set for. I adjusted it for less sensitivity by raising the...
Why would they design it that way. Why not have a second breaker with a reasonable capacity say, 30 amps so troops using them would get some warning before they ruin the unit, then have a switch to bypass the reasonable breaker if you are desperate for more power?
What does it actually take to trip them on a 002a or a 016E? What are the breakers officially rated for? I'm afraid to push mine to much to find out for myself.
Noise levels
Both are noisy right next to them. But outside the garage with the noise directed away from the house it's not bad.

5 feet away: 002 = 94 decibel ave
016E= 93 decibel ave.
Outside garage with door partway down...
