So having low oil flow and a slightly rotated rocker arm shaft can make it over heat?
Do you have low oil pressure in general, or just that one rocker that caused the issue?
Oh and I voted for your Mutt earlier, great looking all around...
So, if you used an earth loading ramp at the fairgrounds to load your jeep in the back, "how did you unload it at the other end of your trip"??
The back of that deuce is a bit higher off the ground than a flatbed trailer, looks kind of scary backing down on a set of ramps....
As near as I could see, you don't need to turn the fuel up on that one yet, unless it needs do do a better job getting from point A to point B than it seemed to do yesterday. About half the folks here are still split 50/50 that it would go that fast, (70 mph) but I seen it do that at least once...
Well, nobody was even on the road much at all except for us and him, maybe an occasional south-bounder, but he had clear sailing the whole time we were back there, I didn't mean for it to sound like he was weaving all in and out of traffic and blowing people off the road or anything, it wasn't...
"I won't deny that anything was possible" during this event. I only know what I saw, but I won't deny that it is possible that "Both speedometers" could possibly be wrong.... But I did ask if he has done any mod's to it, such as the ones that I was reading about here on the SS site, that would...
Well, there were some downhill grades on that stretch of highway, and he was going that fast, no kidding... That's the biggest reason I posted , was because of how fast he was going.
Also, the front truck looked way taller too, the canvas top had the wind in it looked about 3 feet taller or more, than the top bows on the rear truck, that's why we thought it was a 5 ton pulling a deuce. It made the other truck look a lot smaller behind it. At first, we thought for a couple of...
LOL, yeah that's the ones I saw...
Yes, the truck behind you was all over the road, that's how we figured out that you were pulling another really large vehicle behind you, as it was weaving we could see two sets of mirrors and a bunch of tires on the ground. And YES, you was definitely running...
Wow, great replies, I didn't think of the dangers at the time that I saw it, I really didn't because we could not believe what we were seeing I guess. Plus that 2.5 ton was all over the road behind him, he had to be struggling to keep it on the road. It looked a few times like it was either...
Glad to hear someone chime in, I posted this on another forum too, I don't think they believed me at all, that it was going that fast. But man I was there and seen it with my own eye's... I just hope he is a member here, so he can tell about his trip and how he managed to push it that hard. Is...
:jumpin:I know your gonna say that there aint no way that truck could go that fast, but it may have been a downhill slope at that time. When he slowed down to 60 mph, we were able to pass him. "HEY" if the guy that was driving that 5 Ton see's this post, maybe he can tell you... "Yeah he really...
SORRY, didn't get no pics, so just to get that out of the way...
Me and one of my bud's were coming back from the Range today (pre-season sighting check) and just as we turned onto HWY 9 North from HWY 78 WEST (Alabama), I quickly saw up ahead of us, a strange sight.... 3 color camo, wiggling...
I think it is, I contacted them to ask about the USMC stencils, and he gave me the following info:
Dave,Do not have a MC set on the web site as they only used hood numbers and bumper numbers.
Cost for 3” hood numbers is $30.00 in paint mask. 2” will be $25.00
Cost for 2” bumper marks is $25.00...
WOW, that's a large decal on the side of that one, I can't read what it say's right below the passenger seat, but it sure is big...LOL
I'd like to see another one of those..."anybody know what it is?" I never saw one like that on an M151.
I like that website, thanks for the link. I just sent them a few questions as soon as I saw their site. I had been looking at a few other places, but some of the other places seem to have had the wrong font type for 1960's I think they may be using more modern font type.
Some of them also had...
That looks great, thanks again... I remember seeing someplace that makes the stencil kit for you, but I lost the link on it someplace. They didn't seem over priced either for what they were either. I will try to look around for those again.
WOW thank's... I think I can get it now, I just didn't want to rush into it, not ask around, then have everybody tell me I did it wrong...LOL Thanks a bunch for the help.
Anybody know how to get the numbers right on a 1967 USMC M151 for the hood, bumpers, etc. I have read some of the other posts, and see where some use the vehicle serial number, in sequence with other numbers & unit numbers to make the hood numbers, etc. It's a little confusing sometimes, but if...
