Hello, i own a 1987 M998 which original came as a 4man with cargo cover.
On top of my right rear wheelhouse are holes in the pattern shown in the attached picture.
Has anyone an idea what could have been mounted on the wheelhouse?
There is another hole near the pattern, maybe for a radio cable...
Thank you @HUMMER H1 for your answer. Seems like there are some pros/cons for using gear oil instead of atf. Since my tc is leaking like hell, i have to remove it and seal it anyway. I will check the chain and think about going the gear oil route.
Can anyone confirm that the steering gear with this part number is an original one?
I have the same in my car. Bought a gasket kit for it and the sealing rings in the set are way to small.
Thank you very much. Also had an overheating problem with my 6.5 engine. One of the nipples was blocked with a little cord of silicone. Hope the problem is gone now. Still have to test it.
To be onest - I do not know if "reinforcement" is the right word for those sheet metal parts.
Here are two pictures. One with, and one without the " reinforcement" (not my car).
Should be clearer with pictures.
