I'd put a third air tank to be safe. Also, as far as splicing one in, just a few nylon or copper fittings and a spare set of horns/solenoid/switch and you're set.
I plan on doing the same, but instead I will be adding a Hadley big rig air horn instead of the military dual horns. I just like...
What kind of average mileage would one get out of a early 1950s gasser deuce, assuming standard configuration, no cargo, and engine/drivetrain runs well?
From what I see in the pics, and in pics on eBay, these shackles are supposed to use the bolts with the flat side, used on towbars. Those might fit perfectly, and be long enough to use the safety clip, as long as you line up the flat spot in the pin with the flat spot on the shackle.
...and...
Perhaps the 1" pin hooks are for the "lighter" armor like 113s, APCs, 548s, etc., and the 1.5" pin jobs are for "heavy" armor like M60s, M48s and Abrams. Just a guess...
Thanks for all the help, I think I'm going to pick up a set of 1" hooks for schlitz and giggles.
neil - it's the trucks. Definitely can't be me looking good, I scare the shaving cream back into the can...
Kenny - yup, I plan on it. Might be a LONG haul in the deuce, but sounds like a great rally. If I go, the deuce will be going as well; hopefully the winch will be mounted by then.
Thought they were round head bolts, something like that. Grade 9? Is that better than Grade 8? Grade 8 is the heavy duty stuff, I doubt it needs stronger....
Someone told me that the bolts that attach the winch to the winch frame extensions are unique, and must be specially ordered. Is this the case? Where can I get the bolts, and what is the size of the bolts needed?
Camo is really only to fool your eyes. It does nothing to fool infrared sights, satellites, spyplanes, telephoto lens, night vision, etc.
TreBark is to fool animals, which see things differently than your eyes do. Camo should BREAK UP a pattern, not CONSIST of a pattern, like TreBark does...
Will the armor tow hooks I see now and again fit onto the front lifting brackets for the deuce? I don't have one in front of me, but they look like they take a 1" pin....
That's a pretty truck! If it has all the tools inside, it's worth it as a mobile repair shop. If it's stripped, might be good for a camping platform or something like that, but not much else.
I'm going to VA beach in a couple weeks, can pick up on the way back, if that works out. How big are these rims? Just need to know if all I have to do is clean out the Durango, or rent/borrow a trailer.
