Here is where I installed mine. I believe I did it per the TM, but I can't find the books right now. Everything is in storage. Plus, there was already a hole for a screw here.
Same, but be advised. They "balance" the tires by filling them with beads. Since the HMMWV doesn't really "get up to speed" to break up the beads, you're gonna have issues. Take them to a shop and have it done right. Just my 2 cents.

Looks like a plug to protect the connector from the elements. You would have to look at the little metal tag on the cable for the number, then find a wiring diagram
