To single or not to single

Okay, looking at my options here since the right rear outer dual decided to commit suicide. A. Can I pull the wheel and run without it (short 10 mile hops mind you) until I decide what the *%&#@ I’m going to do? I would prefer not to have the fire department following me. :!: B. Do I need to...

    M45 Compressor truck

You call that rust...? Looks like someone went nuts with battery acid! Sounds like you either have much deeper pockets than me or a decent supply point to 'aquire' things from. Very interesting truck and project!

Tires and the sounds of a .357

I considered letting the air out after I figured out the split rims were between the wheels. I think I contemplated it for about 2 seconds…guess I’ve still got some maturing to do on the brighter side of 40…in hind sight that was 2 seconds too long!

Tires and the sounds of a .357

Scrounger, I was going to put this in my PM, but for the benefit of all… Why exactly do you want to run them on the front axle first?

Tires and the sounds of a .357

Recommended is 55 psi. I’m not sure why several were at 75 psi, but he had the rest at 35 because he used it mainly off road. And yes, 55 psi failure is spectacular…at least from the opposing side of the truck…I’m glad I was not nearby. The short drive home took out the flap from the blow...

Tires and the sounds of a .357

Think I’ve got something new that I have not seen on here yet. Was driving the Deuce home today and had a thump that felt like a flat tire (and me with no spare!). Pulled the truck over and both fronts were fine…went to the back and there was a HEY-UGE blister on the exterior rear dual. Of...

    Tech tip of the day

Floridianson, That old mill is still standing, but no thanks to some juvenile delinquents that set it on fire. It’s just a stone shell with no floors or roof. A private group is trying to rehab it, but as always, money is an issue. I think they have stabilized it, but that is about it. The...

    Tech tip of the day

Okay, this brings up a question of mine…or two. 1st – The pressure in my inboard (driveshaft side) tank is great, but the outboard tank has half or less of the pressure. Is this a problem & what might it be? 2nd – I open the drain cocks on my tanks for about 5 seconds to flush any accumulated...

    Split Rings (again)

Thanks…I am very glad to know that I can get some sleep now. Of course, I was sleeping fine, it was my wife that was convinced that they would sneak in the house. And I agree, they should be treated as loaded firearms…I just wanted to know when they were cocked. Going on (inflating) and...

    Split Rings (again)

After reading enough posts on here, I’ve gone from being reminded of split rings, to having the beegeezus scared out of me (making a wide berth around my Deuce), to feeling that if they have not blown apart yet, they won’t (barring digging at the ring – i.e. Deuce roulette). I’d love to have...

Turn signals don't work in Serv light position?

I’m here, but watching your posts. My left signal is solid lit. The right one is AWOL, as are the 4 ways…hope to dig into it this weekend. That is if I get any progress on the title. As usual, I’m waiting for others to get it together! Don’t want to put too much into the Deuce unless I get...

    Disc brakes on a deuce???

Bjorn, Do you have any tutorials for any of these modifications for some of us amateur, armchair, wrench turners to follow, specifically for me the back-up light and alarm mods (but I would love to see all!)? Somehow I doubt it, but you never know.
