I'm no expert, and I have 0 CAD style experience. But from my knowledge with angles and how things are made to be strong and stable. It's strange nobody has designed a easy to install rotating pintle hitch... I see many lunette rings but that requires a little more work than just plug and...
I think what I'm going to end up doing is fabing up my own receiver hitch using something like this. ( https://www.grainger.com/product/BUYERS-PRODUCTS-Pintle-Hook-30PD52?s_pp=false&picUrl=//static.grainger.com/rp/s/is/image/Grainger/30PD52_AS01?$smthumb$ )
I'll then use a adjustable lunette on...
I'll have to test that. Maybe I don't have enough weight in the trailer, or i'm not using a steep enough hill. My father's fishing boat uses a nice surge brake system and it can be a bitch backing into his garage thats on a steep hill.
I'm more curious about a pintle hook, OR a lunette ring...
I'm pretty sure mine doesn't work. I've towed it a few times and it feels nothing like my 1101 felt. I've attempted to "test" it by pushing in the loop into the surge section and, nothing.
I've been having contemplation of keeping my pintle hook hitch. I love the pintle hitch and I've been using it frequently with my m101a3. I'm starting my build of my trailer and i'm debating 3 different options..
1. Keep the pintle hook design, but delete the surge brakes.
2. Put a standard 2...
I'll have to register on that site and keep up to date.
Currently I've owned my 101a3 for a year or so now. I did purchase a FLAWLESS m1101, but decided it wasn't for me. To big for my truck and I didn't like the massive inner fenders from the tires being tucked. I ended up selling that to a...
Right, I understand they are the GM style. I figured I made that clear speaking about my Duramax and what not. I don't want the HMWWV rims or anything like that. I just want to end up being able to use my same wheel pattern as my truck. The spacers should solve that problem.
Great Blog. hopefully soon i'll be able to start my own!
I imagine its possible to remove the surge, fluid lines, without remove the hand brakes?
I haven't opened up my hubs yet to see exactly how everything works.
Perfect. I appreciate the information man.
How much did you spend? ive found a few online for like..50-250.....Would you suggest aluminum or some other type of metal..
I'm not to worried about that I guess. I have those massive wheel well/fenders to fill up. Plus i'll only be using stock rims/tire size.
did you have any problems with them loosening?
Alright Gents, and Ladies.
Here is my situation.
I own a 2014 Duramax, for those who know, The 2014 Duramax has a 8x180 MM off set for the rims.. For some reason, chevy decided to change this in..2011.
My M101A3 Has the 8x6.5 Offset rims.
I do not plan to run 35s, or super bling wheels. I'm...
I have this same question. I bought a 2014 Duramax (old body style) and I was under the assumption that since they share the same body, and style rims, that it would be the original bolt patter. Boy was I wrong. I'm going to be searching for a hub conversion as well to match my DMAX. My trailer...
Well I picked up my trailer! I did notice that one of the tires was mounted backwards on the rim. So that was a bummer. Other than that the tread on the tires was brand new. Trailer looked brand new. And I know the landing gear was never used. I found the manual behind one of the feet! So...
