    m1008 trailer electrical receptacle

Thanks 319, Eric's has the plug. The link you gave was for the truck receptacle. I need the trailer side (plug). I should have been more specific. OUCH! $60 for the plug. I did not want to change it, but for that price I could buy 3, 7 pin receptacles and plugs. Thanks again for all the help...

    m1008 trailer electrical receptacle

Howdy all. Does anyone know where I can get a connector or have a part number for the 12 pin electrical receptacle on the M1008? I want to tow a civi trailer and want to make an adapter to fit without having to remove that receptacle from the system.

    M1008 Brake light/rear disc conversion

Howdy: The Rear valve is called a height sensing proportional valve GM p/n 15538215. How do i know this, I just finished a rear disc conversion on my truck. When I was finished, the rear brakes would lock up and stay that way till I opened up the bleeder on one of the calipers. Sharecropper gave...

    M1008 Brake problem

Thanks Sharecropper. I will look at the orientatin of the valve. Although I am not sure how it would have changed just by wiggling pieces by hand. the linkage is close to 90'. When I changed the lines and hoses, I bled the brakes with DOT 5. I used about a pint and a half of fluid when I bled...

    M1008 Brake problem

I am well versed with silicon. Thanks for the reinforcement of what I was thinking. Now the only problem is that I can not get a proportioning or combitantion valve. M1008 Brake problem

Howdy all: A couple of weeks ago, after coming to a stop, my rear brake/brakes would drag a little. I read on this site a post that said to check the seals. A few days after noticing the problem, I apply the brakes coming to a stop and the pedal goes to the floor. Upon inspection, I find the...

    starter relay question

Howdy. Yes the click came from the starter relay (on the starter) . I was outside the truck next to batteries when I heard it. Changing it to 12v is not mysterious thing. There was a real good article I found that the conversion was done on some forestry vehicles. It has been working for about 6...

    starter relay question

Thanks for the help. I agree about keeping things stock, but when a system is faulty by design or the original parts are no longer available, then fixing the problem is in order. As far as I know civi diesel trucks and blazers of that year do not use them. I do not see how a secondary starter...

    starter relay question

Howdy all: I have been having a intermittent battery drain problem on my M1008. I finally think I found it. Lately I have been disconnecting my negative battery lead (truck converted to 12v) so I would not come out to a dead battery. I had got out my multimeter and the wiring diagrams one day...

    Front Hub

My problem is that my 1008 is my only vehicle. Once I tear into it, I am in all the way. If I had a hub (i have the new rotor already) then I can simply pull it apart put it on and then I would have a spare. I would like to find a good used hub, but if i can't, then I am forced to shell out the...

    Front Hub

Thanks for the link. The picture brings up a question. Are the studs pressed into both the rotor and the hub or just the rotor? If it is just the rotor, then it will just be a matter of buying new rotors and pressing studs into them. I do not have a press so i would need to have a shop do that...

    Front Hub

Howdy all: does anybody know where I might be able to get a front Hub for my M1008? I have been using online parts locator services but, no luck yet. I have a brake rotor that needs to be changed and i would like to build one up, so all I have to do is change it out. Thanks for any help. Tom

    What are these?

I found the plug with the resistor taped up to the wiring harness in the back of the engine, and the plug with the blue wire was just hanging there. Does anybody know what they are for?

GP relay "messin with my head"

Howdy all: I just got some bugs worked out of my GP/12V conversion/fuel problems. My M1008 started having starting issues. Since I did not know when or if the glow plugs were ever Changed, I got the goofy idea they needed changing. I bought a new set of 60G's and put them in. "Wow" What a...

    Electric fuel Pump install?

I have been trying to decide if I want to install one on my M1008 also. Like on of the previous posts. If I do install one, would I have to bypass the engine driven lift pump? I was thinking of installing the electric pump on a switch< more for priming then running constantly. Will fuel pass...
