Update: We went down Friday night to get the truck. My headlight switch failed on my wrecker about midnight & 30 miles this side of my destination. Stupid Ford headlight switches. I spent ½ hour in a gas station parking lot & with a little backyard engineering, got my headlights working enough...
Sounding more & more like a possibility. Probably doesn't help that I am using a "computer safe" LED test light. Those things light up with any kind of voltage.
Getting ready to head out now. Going to be a long night.
Thanks for the help & I will let you know what I find.
Have a good...
OK, some good ideas now. I checked for power at the glow plugs, with a test light. All had power with the glow plugs activated. I have grounded the relay & had power on the output of the relay (again, testing with a test light). Possible I am passing voltage, but no amps through the relay? I can...
The glow plugs are all working. I did the 12V conversion in all my trucks some time ago. I also put in all new glow plugs this last weekend. I own a tow truck, so towing it isn't a problem. It is just a long way off & there isn't any reason for it to be having this issue. Also, it's kind of...
Tuesday morning was very cold & wet. I tried to start it again, with no joy. The gray dreary rainy day prompted me to head home, collect more information & head back down this or next weekend.
To address some of the questions, when I remove the vent cap from the fuel filter, I have fuel...
Help,
I can't get one of my 1008's started. I took it down to our beach house & left it there over the summer, for us to use when we needed a truck down there. We haven't used it in 6 or 7 weeks. I went down before Sandy hit & tried to bring it back then. It cranked fine, but wouldn't fire up...
Ft. Meade Blazers
I bid on a few, but was out bid early. I looked at these trucks twice & most were really rough, especially the sand colored ones. There were only 3 or 4 that I thought were nice, but they went for the most money. Obviously others had been up there to check them out. I hope you...
I agree with Bill above.
I have a 4L80E in my daily driver, 2000 K2500 (350, auto, 4x4 old body style). I have owned it since new & the trans is about the only thing that I have never had to replace. With 260k on the odometer, it is on its second engine, third transfer case & I had to replace...
Hey guys, my first post. Love the website & am really learning a lot by reading the forums.
I have been looking for a CUCV for the last few months. Taking my time to find just the right one. Something no to rough, but not to expensive either.
GL has 9 CUCV's up for auction this week & next...
