Solution to my fuel issues - single tank conversion or am I being to simplistic???

My truck exhibited the same symptoms almost to the tee. When I eliminated the selector valve, I replaced EVERYTHING rubber and all the fiittngs were either replaced or tightened up. Been fine since. Many will agree, you are sucking air somewhere.

Solution to my fuel issues - single tank conversion or am I being to simplistic???

Yes. I did the spin-on set up. I plumbed in a locking ball ball valve on the tank side for security and for filter changes (helps keep prime to the tank when you change the filter).

Solution to my fuel issues - single tank conversion or am I being to simplistic???

I eliminated my selector valve four years ago just after I got my M818 due to a mess load of fuel issues. I have been pulling from the right tank, removing the left completely, since then. Well, right now I'm in the process of installing a new M939A1 58gal. tank on the left side which will...

    Local source for packard connectors

Ditto^^...I also had Erik get me a 100 count bag each of just the male and female metal connector with out the shells. He special ordered them for me from his supplier. The rubber /plastic parts are reusable so that is why I got them. I have met with him personally a couple of times and he's...

    M818/M817 recovery!

Mine has brass inverted flare to push-lock (for rubber hose) fittings at the pump. 1/2" supply and 3/8" return. If yours is the same, just cut the old hose off at the supply fitting and push on a temporary length of hose long enough to reach your temp. fuel supply. No need to fool with the...

    M818 springs vs m813

D-R...mine is the same. They're just light in the @$$. But, yeah, the spring packs are all the same, less the wrecker (walking beam) and bridge trucks (slightly longer).

    California registration experience.

Thanks, Jesse. Therein lies the problem with code sections. You may have LEO's and DMV clerks that interpret the verbiage differently from the next and the differences vary region to region. Basically a PITA.

    California registration experience.

Here's the Historical Vehicle code section if you decide to go that route. This is how I have my M818 registered. Just remember, if one person looks at it and admires it, that's a car show. Your vehicle is "historic" because it has served in our nation's rich military history and is now being...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

On Saturday I installed a third air tank or on-board air-pig, I like to call it. It's an 8.5 gal aluminum tank, DOT approved and made in North Carolina[thumbzup]. It mounted perfectly inboard on the double stacked utility/tool boxes behind the cab. I plumbed it directly from the dry tank with...

Part number 3961T3 is an exact match. I ordered some for the cab bikini top I made last summer.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

IT'S BACK...been a while for this thread. Last week I installed a pair of red lollipop lights. Then I reinstalled a new trailer brake hand valve to include a new front shuttle valve (had to clean the rear shuttle valve...yuck), all new DOT nylon tubing and push-to-connect fittings.
