And some recent short videos - you can see the donor wiring harness through the grille that was loosely hung. It’s an eye sore and I’ll properly split the loom for routing. On the plus side the swap did include the donor hydro boost brakes which work very well.
Thanks! The bed is currently not much to look at as it still has spare parts I need to get onto shelves, much of it related to the original driveline and electronics or the donor F350.
Cab is all stock minus an instrument cluster the PO put together using boat style gauges…on the list to...
Thanks! Its the first I’ve seen here, I’m sure there’s more hiding somewhere. No one has recognized it so far…it’s usually confused for Western European.
The 7.3 is very well suited to it and the swap was well done. I’m chasing some wiring and finishing touches but mainly driving it as much as...
Hello everyone,
I just added mil vehicle #3 to my collection, a Gaz 66 with a Ford 7.3 TD/4R100 swap. Great runner but needs finishing touches surrounding the swap. It came with the original driveline and a bed full of spare parts. Imported from Belarus in 2017.
Are there any other Gaz 66...
Hello,
Not for a Deuce but I know you guys will have an answer. I’m looking to get steel wheels made for a Gaz 66 so I can use common 20” tires. Any leads would be great! I’m in southern CA.
Thanks
Just wanted to provide an update -
Cosmetics are about 85% finished. I have to paint the wheels/hubs, the original 01CA81 registration front and rear as well as numerous small parts.
Mechanically it’s running excellent minus one small problem. All fluids changed and almost no leaks! Engine got...
Hello everyone,
My Ferret is almost road worthy and will attend local car shows. We get an occasional GPW or WC truck but it’s rare…usually 60’s classics and modern exotics. A military vehicle will attract all kinds of attention both good and bad.
My main concern is securing the hatches in a...
Nice fit on the MG34! The whole setup looks great Soupermike. Looks like we are both using the same USGI straps on the tie down loops. I’m still waiting on mine to install.
I’m going to use a demilled SG43 barrel for display with a dummy gas tube for no other reason than I have one lying...
Soupermike, that looks fantastic. Well done!
Im finishing upwith the paint. A few details left on the brushed on camo but it’s coming along well. Wheels and hubs next. I’m trying to have it road worthy for the local car shows around Christmas.
I decided to give it a shot. I painted a military motorcycle in Gillespie but was up for a change. I’m very impressed how forgiving the Behr is.
Just finished with the second coat of the base tan before dark green camo. Behr marquee satin shot from the purple HF HVLP gun.

Thanks for the replies guys!
Soupermike the paint looks great, are you going to do camo or leave it tan? I’m not on Facebook but may have to join if there’s a good Ferret group.
Ferretboy, the current paint was an attempt at a desert storm scheme. I’ll be repainting it tan/dark green Aden camo...
Thanks for the reply. I am in California, northeast LA area. I bought it titled and registered. I was surprised to see it’s properly registered as a 1958 Daimler …I was expecting something bizarre like 1967 Chevy. They used its original registration number for the VIN instead of hull number...
Hello everyone,
I recently acquired 01CA81, a Mk2/3 Ferret. It was sold by Khaki Corps and left outside rather neglected by the PO. It has some late modifications such as the night vision capable driver’s hatch and alternator instead of the 2 speed generator. I am going to repaint it...
