Got the contactor mounted and the new governor board installed. Ran the generator the "dumb" way last night. Want to finish this install!
- I can't reach TB6. I had the engine reinstalled before I got the kit. It looks like you want to connect the supplied white J17 harness to TB6...
Yeah, that's what I'm doing. I skipped McMaster though.... I ordered some Gardner Bender "split bolt connectors" on Amazon. The GSBC-4 connector nuts are sliiiiiightly too small. I've ordered some GSBC-3's and GSBC-2's - will see if we luck out on the threads and the thickness of the slot. I...
Thanks for the specs and whatnot for the nuts. Unfortunately the only place that returned my RFQ for 3 nuts came in at $100 each.
Oof.
Probably gonna contact McMaster Carr and see what the thread is on some of these.

I don't know where I left off... but I got the NorthStar 4000 watt generator head installed and the whole assembly shoved back in.
I did have to move over the big main round connector and still have yet to remount the contactor.
Complications in my case have been needing to rebuild the pigtail...
I looked through C-1 (Repair parts and special tools list) of the manual and couldn't even pin down the part numbers... but went through again and found that the whole stud (with hardware) is part 11, NSN 5940-00-234-3383. But from there.... Web searches feel like they're in spam-land, nothing...
> Restores Overload function. Opens contactor if either leg is overloaded or short circuited. No additional circuit breakers needed.
> Optional components to restore operation of factory battery charger operation.
For those keeping score at home.... While this might make me reliant on thinks...
Does anyone have a source for the hardware in the output terminals? Two of mine are missing the nuts, the cage things, and the little insert that actually presses against the wire.
I went to wire my head to a terminal block, but I have to finish making the connector that mates to the very short wires coming out of the head (Reminder here).
I've got the Northstar 1659201 head in there, which is the 4000/4500 surge head:
I should then run the blacks through two breakers...
They wrote back and said the pins were the same... so I ordered one of the connectors. Pulled the pins out of my connector - they're sliiiightly larger than the ones included with their connector but I think a wee mashing with the pliers fixed that. Just ordered a terminal block from mouser to...
Submitted a help request to them. I think. Will see if they have a sick fix!
The "universal" connector they've got is cheap like I'd expect, though the 4 wire doesn't look quite the same as this one. Possible the pins are the same... and if they aren't, well, time to get the loppers.
