I’m expecting to need to tweak the turbo inlet, but that is easy. The turbo to intake manifold will not need any fabrication and the exhaust is a V-band outlet, so easy to adapt to the current J pipe.
I have my eye on an adjustable wastegate that will bolt right on to a HX52W and then use the...
Greetings guys. I tried quite a few search terms looking to find out if and HX55 or HX52 would be a good swap for the D turbo. If this has been addressed somewhere else I’ll gladly follow a link and stop wasting everyone’s time with a fresh thread….I just can’t find it after searching and...
This is exactly what I was hoping to find! Thank you. I'm still contemplating the cost/benefit of a pass-through. There's definitely a lot of potential down sides: insulation compromised; weather-proofing the gap; flexibility in the gap....may outweigh the benefits of being able to wake up and...
I thought about LPG.....but I didn't want to punch a bunch of holes in the rig for ventilation and exhaust (says the guy who wants to put a great big hole to the cab in it....). I'm going with electric so that the only fuel I need to carry (or acquire) on the vehicle is diesel, the...
I think I've got the flexible seal between the cab and box all figured out. Mainly concerned with the structure/wiring of the box and where is safe to cut. Should I be ok cutting an inch or two below the front window and keeping the width of my cut the same or less than the window width on center?
Greetings guys and gals,
I recently bought a 1971 M109A3 with the intentions of converting it to an Overlander RV. I have gathered most of the guts and am starting on the cabinetry, plumbing, and electrical now. One thing I'm considering and leaving room for is to cut a flexible passthrough...
One other thing. What systems are we trying to protect by monitoring the EGT? The turbo itself seems obvious, but I've heard people talk about melting the heads or the pistons, which seems a little out there. I've seen people mention that they use 1100* as a limit because the melting point of...
It has the D turbo. Runs great on the level. Makes 4-6 psi at 2500rpms and nice and cool (750*-800*). I live in Wyoming and I plan to use truck all over the Rocky Mountain west. Just hoping to claw my way up the hills a little better. Home is a t 6500' so the air is thin, and I've got to go up...
Hi guys and gals,
I have a 1971 M109A3 with a stock (as far as I know) LDT465 1D. The FDC has been bypassed by the military. It runs good, no excessive smoke, starts easily, water temp stays between 190 and 200 under load, etc... I recently put in a boost gauge and EGT/Pyrometer (in the rear...
