My only other concern than the electronics was the power. From all I can see the 7.3 has more HP than the the LD's but I couldn't find the torque rating on the LD's. I know enough to know that it's not worth going through all the work if it will be under powered or break something.
Has anyone ever put a 7.3 from an older Ford Super Duty into a Deuce? If so how easy/difficult was it? Why would you consider/not consider doing it? Is there a better choice for a diesel only in the A2? Am I crazy for even thinking of this? I have come to my senses (my wife beat me down)...
I know my wife's Excursion isn't an MV but when a 17 y/o kid decided he could beat her to the intersection in his( mommmy/daddy) new 2009 Corrola it wasn't pretty. At 30 mph she attempted to swerve to miss him and laid on the breaks. Good thing she tried to miss because she put the right side...
I bought my wife an Excursion a while ago and I couldn't allow her to have the bigger truck so I bought an F350, non-dually sad to say. Now she thinks my getting a deuce is just plain nuts.
I need to go there to preview some trucks next week. If you are sure it will run I can drive it to my house and keep it here for a short term for you. If I had a way to tow it now I would. Just let me know. I'm near Milwaukee if that helps with location for you.

Can anyone explain the built cargo cover to me? It appears to be some 2x4's with sheet metal screwedto the side. Are they removable, stable worth having?
As always thank you.
I know enough to know I don't know it all. I was just hoping to get opinions on wich would be a better truck to get and are there any pitfallls with the 944 I need to know about. In picture form it looks similar to the M35A3, which I like and everyone else I meet seems to find ugly????
I was hoping I could get some opinions on the M944A1 shop trucks. They look similar to the M35A3 but I know there are mechanical and other differences. I just would like to know are they a sloid and reliabe platform and how difficult is it to get rid of the box they come with and install a...
So what you're telling me is that when I found one and told my wife I should be able to get it real cheap because who would want one so big, I was wrong? Don't tell her that.
I found this one but it's not the easiest to go through on the computer screen. And I'm just not willing to print over 500 pages at this time. If some one with a bit more tech experiance than me could tell me if this would be more of what I need please...
Would this be the manual that you speak of?

And thank you all for all the help.
I found a couple of sites that may help.

And the better one seems to be this one.
