I have 2 MEP-005a's that the fill neck rubber hose has deteriorated so much that they leak when fueling. I am having a hard time finding a replacement for this , has anyone found anything that will work for this ?
Thanks,
Ant
I have a 805 that is in need of a fuel filter retainer (the 5" round plastic retainer that locks the fuel filter in place)- it came to me with no filters and the filter retainer was missing. I have tried to find a part number in the TM's but am not having any luck. Does anyone have the part...
I have a MEP-805a and I am having an issue with it. It will start up but shuts off as soon as I release the master switch it shuts right down. I have tried turning on the battle short switch but it still shuts down. When I turn the master switch to start, the shut off / governor engages but...
I found the issue - the cam shaft sheared between the injector lobe and the injector timing gear. I can't believe it sheared with 6 hours on it, or that it was able to run like that.
Is this an interference engine ? If not I might try and slide a new cam in. Is it possible to put a new cam in...
The genset had a new Melton engine put in 10/2006, do you think it's possible that the cam is bad ? That's the only thing I can think of. I'd hate to tear the whole engine down and have it be something else. Any thoughts ?
Thanks,
Ant
The first few times at the injector, but the next few times at the pump. It starts hard but runs runs on #1 and with #2's line off there is no fuel coming from the pump.
Thanks,
Ant
I have a MEP-002 with 12 hours on it. I removed the tank and flushed it, changed the fuel filters and cleaned the strainer and added Diesel 911 for good measure. I got it running but it was not running well so i cracked the injector lines and it was getting fuel from the injector pump on the #1...
Just got two more 548a1's !! I went to Suffolk and both of these were in great shape. The ranger there said they had't been used since 2008. When I went down to inspect themI brought my tools, batteries and ether and got both of them started . Actually got a much better price on these ones, it...
I spoke with the person responsible for listing them and asked about the other two. He said that they were already sold to a state agency back in January but they hadn't picked them up yet.
It did get expensive but a friend and I are talking about possibly removing the tank and putting troop seats in it and offering rides on the beach from the boardwalk in Wildwood,New Jersey. Not fully set up at this point but we are working on the details.
Driving it must have been a blast. Did...
I am not sure which one it is - didn't notice that they weren't the same vehicle. I spoke to the contact person and was told that it ran well but winch doesn't work. He said he would try to get additional pics but never did.
Thanks for the link.
Just picked up a M-548A1 from the Maine forestry service. I spoke with them and they claim it runs well. Now I am in the process of arranging transport. Does anyone have any TM's for this or know where I can get them.
Thanks,
Ant
