I think the guys up above have hit on something, either your mech needs to trace back the steps to where he disconnected the auto excite circuit and attempt to reconnect it, or he needs to continue and rengineer the unit to the max. The problem when...

The FIRST rule in regards to military surplus is.... If it ain't broke, don't fix it! These machines were designed to survive and operate under conditions that would kill civillian generators, and they are very over built. Primitive yes, but generally they do...

Yes, I've got her running like a watch, but the movement fees, taxes and inspection requirements up here are ludicrious, and with the possibility of a shut down looming..... she just isn't gonna get up here any time soon. Mr. Weemes has always taken good care...

Greetinngs from Illinois! Did they ever finish the restoration of the Malago or Torremelinos Cathedral? When I last saw it in 1971, they were still repair shell holes from the Spainish Civil War. At least a CUCV must be an odd vehicle in that part of spain. Did it come from a US...

:-( Due to my job relocating me to Illinois last summer, my M35A2 "Saddam's Nightmare" is looking for a new home with a MV collector, preferably in Texas or the southland. Please see the classifieds for her advertisement. The laws up here are not all that favorable to...

I have only owned an M35A2 of late, but do permit me to point out that M35A2 NOS parts are a heck of a lot cheaper and more plentiful then M35A3 parts.... Man up, is that the word? We had M35 and M211's and the automatic transmission was designed for a...

All Jesting aside.....:-?
The rear frame does seem to have been shortened significantly behind the rear shock hangers, and before you guys tell him (the OP) to mount a shortened duece bed on the beast, remind him that ANY bed has to be able to stand a more extensively...

I just love it when someone tries to improve, expand, uprate and otherwise reengineer an engine that was inherently designed for low rpm high torque operations....:p They might be successful, sometime or the other, but given the way fuel...

Any chance its the slobber pipe dripping on the axle? My M35A2 "Saddam's Nightmare" was tagged by a commercial truck shop guy in January 2008 as having a leaking wheel cylinder because of that... So far she has been driven about 8,0000 miles with only a slight top up of...

May I say, as a connoiseur of the S404.114 from the Swiss Army, that that particular machine is light years beyond ugly. That one is like waking up in Austin, Texas with a beer hangover and that Unimog in your garage..... I suspect its a combination of...

Saddamsnightmare, in my icon annexed was purchased from BullDogMack13 as a hard top M35A2. I converted it to a soft top and retained the original cold weather cab which will be part of the truck's equipment when and if it is sold. All you have to do is hunt up...

Here's the Ultimate! While my M35A2 has the conventional elbow Field Mod to keep snow and rain out of the filter.... The Unimog uses a Mann & Hummel "Zyclone" unit as a pre cleaner for heavy dust and dirt to protect the oil bath air filter.... It woprks really well in snow...

It does seem that the devils we do know have been getting fiesty lately.... BUT they can't even leave their own history undamaged, and in many ways the society there is split between the 7th and the 20th centuries. Our equipment may be getting sold to Egypt, but we...

The rifle rack bracket in the cab works well for a Pepsi, and the rifle clips work well for two more, which + 3 pepsi's by my count, what's not to love, plus that flow through airconditioning and that throaty NA Multifuel Sound....

ALL the 11:00X20 NDCC's need to run in snow on the rear of the truck is a set of three rail chains for each wheel set. HOWEVER
you won't be allowed to run through Illinois with them on, as they will make our already bad roads worse!:D

I don't know which are looser on here, the lugnuts or the towbar pins!;-) I fear some of our posters are gonna draw attention that they probably really don't want or need. Between you and I and the wall, the Romans probably had an EUC for used scorpions or war...

At least while you have the Gas Unimog....AVOID any gasoline with ethanol in it at all!!!! My S404.114 ran year in and year out in Texas, including a 750 mile trip up here to Illinois...So far it has had 3 fuel pumps (mechanical) in 3 months due to the d--ned...
