    M1097A2R

My coworker found this M1097A2R at RRAD with ESC (ABS/Stability Control). Looks like they've built 41 of them, and then they stopped. Still sitting down there in the yard.

    M1097A2R

Hmmmm, I didn't notice anything about ABS with Stability Control in there

    M1097A2R

    Ok y'all, here's a good one. What is the main difference between a M1097A2 and a M1097A2R?

CTIS pressure settings increase - no programming, transducer, or module required.

Good god is it ever. I can't wait to get it all fixed. That's my project for this weekend.

CTIS pressure settings increase - no programming, transducer, or module required.

Only problem is, with the dump valves open, I don't have a compressor strong enough to keep up and hold that much pressure in the lines.

CTIS pressure settings increase - no programming, transducer, or module required.

OK. I received my new Transducer. So I decided that while I was in there I may as well rebuild the PCU. New O-Rings everywhere and a light coat of silicone lube. New transducer installed. Got everything hooked up, all 4 tires at 60 psi, wet tank full.... I plugged in the controller, and...

CTIS pressure settings increase - no programming, transducer, or module required.

Except the J1708 and J1939 are not pinned in the CTIS harness. My truck has a J1708 Diagnostic plug, but only the Trans is connected.

CTIS pressure settings increase - no programming, transducer, or module required.

That's probably the main issue then. When powered, it reads 00.00 Volts. Test failed, 5 flashing lights. Not yet. Doing that today. The slight angle they put it at was a sorry attempt to compensate, but was never enough to do any good. Once I start updating the configuration, adding in the...

CTIS pressure settings increase - no programming, transducer, or module required.

The green controller is not triggering the control valve or the fill valve for the initial pressure check, and once that process fails, I get 5 flashing lights. The harness and tank sensor pass checks, I ran down the entire TM electrical troubleshooting procedure. TM says Transducer is bad, but...

CTIS pressure settings increase - no programming, transducer, or module required.

Well, looks like I have a lot more work. I used the jumper wire method to check for leaks, and as soon as I jumped pin B to open the wheel valves, the tires started deflating out the dump valve. Time to pull the PCU and go through it. I did get Pin M switched to Z, so I'll have 81 psi highway...

    Diagnostic Plug on a 1998 M1078

    Yep, that's the one.

CTIS pressure settings increase - no programming, transducer, or module required.

I have to replace the Pressure Transducer first so the system can read tire pressure again, then I'll start playing with it. Anyone know the PN for the P110 pins?

    Diagnostic Plug on a 1998 M1078

Back in the day, J1708 standard plugs were 6 pin. The J1939 brought the 9 pin connector. Now you can do J1708 on a 9 pin no problem. I'm going to "Borrow" an MSD V2 and a DPA 4 from work with the Allison software on it and hook it up. See what it can do.

    Diagnostic Plug on a 1998 M1078

When you say "Electronic", I'm guessing you mean EMS NG or IADS? Cause I have the complete set downloaded in PDF. I do have the A1, A1R book and the A1P2 in EMS NG. I also have the draft A2 in IADS.

CTIS pressure settings increase - no programming, transducer, or module required.

I figure that with two 3 position rocker switches (Power, Open, Ground) with one wired to Pin Z and the other to M I would be able to access all 9 programs. Not sure what the other 6 programs are, but they would be available.

    Diagnostic Plug on a 1998 M1078

Already checked the CTIS harness. Pins D, a, N, and A are all empty. D & a are for 1708 and N & A are for 1939. But I bet it's for the Allison alone. I'm the TACOM Equipment Specialist for FMTV's and this is the first J1708 I've seen in an A0.

    Diagnostic Plug on a 1998 M1078

I'm trying to figure out why I have a 6 pin round J1708 diagnostic plug in the place of the old Allison diagnostic port on my 1998 S&S 1078 with a BAE data plate on it. BAE did a RESET in 2010 where they did a full repaint (among other things apparently). I didn't think A0 trucks had a network...

CTIS pressure settings increase - no programming, transducer, or module required.

Coming into this a little late, so sorry if this is old news.... Got to this thread by looking for A0 info. My 1078 was giving me the 5 flashing lights which I was able to isolate to the ground splice from P111 to P112 being severed. So now Pins A and B in P112 to the PCU have no ground. At...

"How to get a HET in life..." - M1070 Acquisition thread

Here is our HETS. We had the 1070 before, but it was real nice to get the M1000 for the complete set. Now we can haul around the 1945 LVT-4 in style.

PS Magazines: View Online, soon, I hope!

I've worked with at least half of them over the last 23 years. Still have 3 or 4 reps at TACOM Warren I work with when I have to draft or approve an article. But like the article said, soon as they retire, their position goes away. It sucks. I'll be retiring from TACOM in 2035. My slot will...
