Well I was able to obtain pictures of the title. The truck is a 1943 White "666" #24 as designated on the title. It is the original title from 1960 when Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC purchased the truck to use as a mobile power source.

Does anyone have an idea of the value of the truck? The guy's son desperately wants to get it off their property because he sees it as an eyesore. however, from what you all have been telling me, it may be a gem. I don't want to lowball him.

Here are some pics I took of the generator setup. It is a LeRoi power unit coupled with a Westinghouse 25kVa AC/DC generator set.

I hope to return to work on the truck this weekend. If I do, I will get some full-truck pictures. We pulled it out of the weeds and trees so now I can capture the whole thing.

So I dont need to put anything in there? I can see a big gear inside the reservoir.

There is a reservoir with a cap right above th alternator. What type of fluid if any goes in there?

What exactly do you mean by status of the choke? It moves freely, but there are two knobs labeled choke. one goes to carburetor, the other goes to somewhere near distributor cap. I wish i had a manual for this truck.

It has the number 24 in several places on the truck. The top of the cab is almost rusted through and the windshield is busted, which is a pity. The paint is peeling but the rest of the truck is in surprisingly good shape. So the generator set would have been military installed?

Also, has anyone ever seen a truck with the hard back shell like this one with a generator setup? Im guessing could have been a Signal Corps truck?

Is there a place i can find starting instructions for this engine? I tried to crank it the other night but a bad coil prevented that.

It has 10 lugs on each wheel. The front differential is also offset to the drivers side.

Hi all, One of my buddies found out that I had a deuce and told me he had one and wanted me to look at it. I went over to his house last sunday and saw it. It appears to be a 50's model REO (?) deuce with a hard shell on the back. also in the back is a LeRoi engine coupled to a 25 kV...

I checked them with engine running. They are reconditioned batteries from interstate. I will probably have them load tested at oreillys tomorrow.

Yes it starts fine now. I had tried to start it with the dead batteries and the starter must have engaged or bound up. It is fine now.
