Took it apart and the pics attached. Still dont know how the metal coupling is attached to the plastic nipple from the cooler. It's perfectly smooth, both nipple and the inside of the fitting. Might have to get another cooler.

Have a unit with only 2.7 hours on it. Had to repair transfer pump, getting fuel in and out of filter but not getting any fuel out of high side of injector pump. Removed pump, looks brand new from outside. Looked inside of return line port and see a little rust and some gunk inside.

Yes sir, proper pump, still had all of the Marine tan paint on all of it, had never been removed. The pump base is a oblong triangle. Can only go on one way
Morning all, newbee here. I picked up a 2008 MEP-016B unit with only 2.7 hours on it. Flushed every thing and added new oil and fuel. I was unable to prime manually , had no resistance at all. Removed the pump and disassembled. There were no sign of gunck or sludge. Diaphragm in good shape...
