My 816 made sounds like that when I had a bad ground to the frame battery cable. It finally showed it's face with some sparks is how I located it

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2024 - October VOTE HERE!

When that 900 series hits 70+ years old and has sat neglected in a field for a couple decades, gets dragged out ,fired up, rust fixed, new tires, new paint it too will deserve to be looked at as a survivor and not beat around like a day to day hauler. Just my opinion

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2024 - October VOTE HERE!

Sorry it's been a pretty busy week, haven't really had much time to play with the Tonka trucks. Here's a few more pictures of my M-51 today. They're all parked in the stable 4 5 tons and a 2.5 ton GMC in this row

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2024 - October VOTE HERE!

This M-51 is serial number 543 produced January 1951 R6602 engine. These pictures are as well found it near Kokomo Indiana last had ran in the 90s. New coil and some TLC and a Jerry can of gas on the fender had it running in about 2 hours. Record the radiator, some new fuel tanks, tons of paint...

MV of the month October 2024 nomination

Managed to build this truck this year along with our pioneer trailer and M-56B1 for the Findlay show. Had it less than a year, lots of welding can rockers, fenders, new drivers door, newer tires, new fuel tanks, 6 gallons of primer and 9 gallons of paint, tarp troop seats kit

Need help identifying my new M-37 auction find

Troop seats holes in bed is all I really see other than antenna mounts. The troop seats themselves have some holes but not sure they've always been with the truck by the paint. There is a cable passage between the cab and bed

Need help identifying my new M-37 auction find

Would the radio set have been in the bed of the truck or would it have had a com shelter of some sort?

Need help identifying my new M-37 auction find

Thank you so much for the info, tires all dates Goodyear 1954 unfortunately engine is gone so original generator all gone too but I agree this one is probably going to be one of the easier trucks to get back together

Need help identifying my new M-37 auction find

Ok guys I recently got a new to me M-37 project truck at auction, it is probably the best shape candidate that I've seen. Engine is out of it, there was one in the bed on a stand. It obviously isn't correct as it has 6 volt equipment on it. I also got another engine in the round metal military...

Wanted: M-816 or M-936A2 wrecker bed parts or whole bed

I'm looking at a M-936A2 that has been overloaded and damaged the shipper, lift cylinders, steel lines that go to boom winch, and assuming the inner boom extension cylinder. Would be open to a whole wrecker bed to part out or just the parts I need if someone is parting one out

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Been working on getting the M-51 ready for painting. Mad dash just a couple of weeks to get it done for the Portland Indiana MVPA show. Got them all lined up along the tracks so I have room to start painting next week. Nevermind the bobcat and the bucket truck lol
