You need to get the volt meter out. Power comes out of mt1, which is located in the bottom right corner of the control cubicle. Then from there to CB1.
Your low compression is coming from frozen rings. That is why I asked the question of the number of hours. This is very common on low hour units and has nothing to do with wet stacking. Your number 4 piston is concerning because there is no reason for the piston to rub, unless the motor was dry...
Ive never seen wet stacking cause low compression. In the picture of the cylinder wall that looks like aluminum on the wall. Why do you need new pistons? Usually low compression would point to rings. How many hours is on the unit.
Rich, you may want to take the flywheels off and sell them by themselves because I've known several people that bought the LPW engine for other applications but couldn't find the flywheels. They had to spend alot on a custom machined flywheel. Just my two cents
You can find the rotors and stator's but you need to be patient. They come up for sale on the big auction site. Light in the dark has a few brand new ones.
In all my years I've only seen one s8 switch fail. Most of the time you need to clean them with electrical cleaner to get them to properly work. Sand and grime can get in between the contacts and it won't make a good contact.
Shes running pretty good to me. The way that the governor is set-up your going to have adjustments overtime. The governor system is a cordination of springs, as they age, the stretch. Need to adjust your droop and your stop bolts on the throttle linkage. Dont mess with the adjustments on the...
I agree with Kloppk, something is going on with the arm. Watching the 1st video the arm is not moving freely like it should. Soon as the solenoid retracts the arm should move smoothly and fast. In you video its not moving smoothly, it acts like its catching on something. Need to check the fuel...
Take a dremel and cut the metal crimp long ways. Then take a flat head screwdriver to seperate the metal crimp and pull off. Be careful not to cut all the way through the hose because you don't want to cut the brass hard line. Also take it off the fuel filter housing so you can work with it. For...
You can test the sender but testing ohms. If it's full, it should read around 240 ohms. Less ohms with less fuel. Light in the dark has OEM replacements and I agree with him. If it's pegged past fuel, usually the gauge.
Wanted to give everyone some direction if they have an 804a that can't stay primed.
Just got a unit in, primed up the fuel system and started. Ran for about 2-3 minutes and shut down due to lose of prime to the injector pump. Primed again and started, went dead after 2-3 minutes. Went through...
Thats what I was thinking too, loose connection. So I checked everything in the output box and every connection is tight. I sprayed the reconnection switch with cleaner and rotated several, several times. I'm going to swap output boxes to see if it is the box.
Don't worry to much about the exact model of the resistor, but you want to stay in the 50-60 ohm range. Search ebay Dale CW-10 56 ohm. They have some cw-10 50ohm 13 watt. All your wanting to do is reduce the current to the F1 exciter. I went from the switch, to the resistor, then immediately to...
So this is a new one for me. I have a customer that bought a generator from me 2 years ago. He started it recently and after 5 minutes the voltage went to 0. Told him to take 17 off VR and voltage spiked so assumed voltage regulator. He purchased a new one from Triple Jim adn installed. Voltage...
Super easy. The newer voltage regulators have 4 wire hookup. 2 for the exciter and 2 sensing wires. For the 2 exciter wire hookup, you just attach those to the wire block that is mounted right behind your VR box now. Then run your sensing wires to the reconnection board or the contactor of 2 hot...
