CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

I get people doing a swap but I got a 5$ box of 100 o rings that repair these. The water sensor leaks. Easy fix. I've got 4 of these trucks. The swap is around 50$...I save 195$ by keeping the box filter. I've collected at least a dozen of the filters from people that don't know how much they...

    Rattle or clatter noise m1009

It sounds like pr buzz...old trans slang for pressure relief valve...it's in the front pump...be right at the front of the bell housing. Wonder if you unhook the modulator valve from vacuum if it stops. If fluid comes out it's bad! Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

    m1009 ashtray

So you feel like moving here US for a month with that thing and get it all fixed up?? LOL just kidding....LMC has the 2 springs plus the rubber stoppers that go on the inside for soft opening. Part number 18 and 19. https://www.lmctruck.com/interior/glove-box/csb-1981-91-dashboard-components

    Dark Seas M1008 Project

See if you turn it off all the way to see if it'll lock the steering wheel. It should lock. If not changing the cylinder takes 2 pullers. One for the wheel and one for the spring lock under the horn. Not hard and not expensive. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

So the new green machine had this weird morning starting issue where is it start and run for about 5 seconds then shut off. Had to crank it several times before it would finally start and run for most of the day. If it sat for about 5 hours it would repeat again. My first move was to replace the...

    HACKED M1009 WIRING

Look on Facebook for a guy named Mike Morin...he has at least a dozen trucks and blazers torn apart or for sale. He'd have the dash, engine harness, starter and alternator. If you tell him what your doing he'll make sure you get what you need. Be easy to just pop a new harness in it than trying...

M1008 harsh and late 1-2 and 2-3 shifting

Yup can take it out in the truck. Yes the check balls will come out but the ones in the valve body stay in it and the ones in the case should stay in if you leave the top plate bolted in. It's a very messy job but not hard. The check balls would have to go in where the kit said so not the stock...

M1008 harsh and late 1-2 and 2-3 shifting

Ok...if it's shifting that hard then it's definitely not a modulator issue. To mild it out you'd have to drop the valve body and put the mild colored springs from the kit in. Looks like they popped the pressure valve out and swapped it too. Without the kit part number it's hard to guess exactly...

Batteries, Charging, and using a Winch question.

You can reach gen 1 light without taking the cluster out from under the dash...not to tight under there. 194 bulb is what I normally put in there. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

M1008 harsh and late 1-2 and 2-3 shifting

So post pics of what's left of the transgo kit plus it's number. Shifting wise 15 mph into 2nd and 35 into 3rd is about normal with light throttle. Does it shift higher with more throttle? Define harsh...like bang shift or just firm. What vacuum inlbs at the modulator do you have at idle. Sent...

    Project Wild Weasel M1009

If the 2 bolts that hold the reducer and input didn't break off inside the pump housing, I could have rebuilt it for under 50$. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

Been fighting my glows, if the truck sits for about an hour after I drive it up to operating temp. Even replaced the stock temp sensor with a nos one to turn on the glows for a few seconds so it starts easy...but it still won't. So I did a thing that isn't stock but I hid it pretty good in the...

Seems like this is turning into a build thread.

That magic spring did come out of your steering column...it's the key in the ignition ground...I usually chuck those since I don't like that buzzing noise. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

    Project Wild Weasel M1009

Dang, that's a nice one. I keep buying old ones and fixing them...use them for a bit and sell them and repeat. Are you gonna paint that army green or sand? Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

Blown Head Gasket Recovery (no longer) - Massive Engine Failure (!)

Dang this entire thing makes me sad!! Got a new motor and it exploded. I have no idea why it did that...I'd think if you had a fuel issue the egt would have gone up a bunch, they react fast too. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

Can I switch out flat wiper arms for Jhook arms on 1986 m1009

Yup!! Dorman makes a set that I've put on 4 so far. Fit good plus has the hook. I put 2 19 inch wiper blades on too. Amazon says they don't fit but they do. No more blades falling off! Wiper arms are 25 each and the blades 15 a pair. Good paint in them too. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk

    Project Wild Weasel M1009

That's not od green canvass!! That's the table we used to paint the hood on..got sprayed too. The honda is a 5 gallon per minute 5k psi pump...I think the honda has a 3 gallon tank. That is a switch for a cucv too...took it out of the cab out back. That pump setup weighs just at 140 lbs. It's a...

    Project Wild Weasel M1009

I'll go pressure wash someone's stuff before I loan one out again! What most people don't know is if you leave the engine running without using the water it gets very hot then burns up the pump or the release valve will pop...this is a 13 horse honda with a 5k 5 gallon with a burned up pump...
