What did you do to your deuce this week?

Dipstick, I don't do to bad unless I have to lay down on the concrete and work with my hands over my head. Like installing front axle dust boots. But I got both front wheels done, one yesterday, and the other today. It used to be about a 4 hour job several years ago. Now I know why so many of...

Dipstick, I had to drill the holes in the support rails. I haven't modified the plastic BB in any way.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Dipstick, I'll be 67 in a couple months. My arthritis always reminds me how much I dislike this job. What I dislike even more is knowing the job needs to be done, and not doing anything about it. So I have to get with it like it or not. We have the big MVCC gathering the last week of April 2021...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Dipstick, the BB came as pictured. I had to drill two holes in the BB support rails so the handles could lock down as pictured. Then the diaper pins lock the handles. When installed, check the backside of the BB to make sure all the cables are routed properly. (not chaffing)

What did you do to your deuce this week?

One of the jobs I hate to do every 2 to 3 years.....front axle dust boots and clamps. If someone made dust boots that would last several years, he would be a Millionaire. (y)

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Dipstick, I also had a metal BB that rusted through. So I got one of the newer plastic boxes a couple years ago, and all is well. I got the data stickers from either Bigmike or on e-bay.

Steel Soldiers MV of the month March 2021 VOTE HERE

#1 My M38A1 arrived home from Central California in 2017, and she was in worse shape than I thought. #2&3 Once I started going through the Jeep I found that it had a Commercial Jeep F-134 engine. So I started correcting things by replacing the Carter YF carburetor with the correct Carter YS950S...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

The TMs are the best place for information. I would love to have a couple of NOS front fenders to salt away, along with some hoods & hard tops.

Good idea Mike. Mike, while your at it, also check your flex lines for signs of cracking or leaking.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Mike, I had a wheel cylinder leaking. I was fortunate to have a Lockheed Wagner wheel cylinder salted away. Also replaced the inner and outer hub seals, the flange hub gasket, and the little square cork gasket, then repacked both bearings. Will adjust the brakes, and put the wheels back on...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Doing a little rear axle brake service yesterday and today. I borrowed the tie down strap idea to support the brake drum from one of our members son, who using the strap while packing wheel bearings on his dad's truck. Sure saves wear and tear on my back and shoulders. Thanks' young man!
