Possibly start using PB Blaster or WD-40 or whatever your favorite penetrating oil is.
I also wonder (memory is failing me) if you need to remove a clip on each axle - inside the "pan" on the rear axle...

I think you could flush them out without a lot of trouble. Especially if you build yourself a "power bleeder". There would be a minor issue if there is a lot of sand or dirt inside the brake reservoir - but maybe you could replace the master cylinder only rather than all the brake lines AND...

Have you by chance checked the ground for the lights?
Lighting on the HMMWV is grounded through the wiring harness.
Where did you put your test leads for Ground?

Croby sells these "wire rope fittings" and their name carries weight... The big plus to using these things is that they are rated at 100% of the cable capacity when installed correctly. Often times they are called "swage sockets"...
