I cost about $171 total: 3 rolls of Dynamat Hoodliner material. Each roll is 32"x54"x0.75 thick.
Here's the summit racing link to the material i used:

I still owe the thread a mapping of how I applied the material to the hood.
Thank You for watching and sharing your experiences. It was about 42 degrees in Big Bear that day. The Cab stayed pretty comfortable - didn't need to turn on the heater. I've relined the roof and upper portion of THOR's cab with dynamat and Liner to reduce exterior noise - I think it helped...
On January 5th I took the Wife and family on a trail ride from Apple Valley to Big Bear (Fawnskin). My daughter drove her Silverado pickup and my Son's Fiancé drove her Jeep. Compiled a YouTube video documenting our adventure. We went from Sand to Snow in 3 hours of trail running. My first time...
@dougnash & @SCM35A2 : Thank You for the positive feedback!
The material is Dynamat brand Hood Liner 11905 from Summit Racing : https://www.summitracing.com/parts/dyc-11905
Comes in 32" x 54" rolls. I used 3 rolls with very little left over. I can provide a sketch of how I pieced it all...
Refreshed the hood insulation - removed the remnants of the decaying old insulation and applied new Dynamat Hoodliner. Used 3M 90 spray adhesive to ensure solid attachment.
Just saw this post: I'd definitely be interested. We would need to meet up at some cross-point as I'll be departing from Southern California. Are you thinking of hitting the Rubicon Trail while in AK?
Had a similar air leak problem at the 2019 SoCal SS Rally - cab sounded like steam escaping when I shut down the rig. Took the water separator apart, removed the internal valve assembly and installed a Schroeder valve as suggested by Suprman. The "T" component referenced is the white...
@DanielsCousin: So Great to meet You Too! Thanks for the Pics of THOR! Yes, the bed of THOR was scrambled eggs after several attempts on that hill - Great Fun! I should post a pic of the extra 5gal Jerry Can I had strapped (briefly) to the bed of the truck - totally beat up after that :)
While driving home through the Cajon Pass today I heard the sound of a steam engine horn - pulled off at Cleghorn Pass and took the following pic of a UP BigBoy Steam Engine ... thought I'd share...
FastNova - Thank You for the incredible hospitality and your family treating me like family - Much Appreciated. Great Food - Great People!!!
I have some fun video from the CrownVic rally challenge - need to figure out how to share with the crew. Attached are just a couple pics of yesterday's...
Wow - Impressive! - I'm not worthy :)
Regarding the Copper City reference by True Knight - That's a bit north of the GPS coordinates provided at the start of the thread... I'm somewhat confused
What route are people taking?
Logistics Questions (1st timer here):
1. Assuming arrival on Friday is pretty wide open due to work schedules. I'd like to arrive before dark if possible.
2. Communication channels: Is there a preferred CB, GMRS or Amateur Radio channel that is monitored? I can support either (KM6OZT)
3. Does...
Installed a Sherpa 25,000lb 24v electric winch on my M923A2. Used 4"X6"x5/16 Angle Iron and 5/16" plate for the main mount. Also Thick-wall DOM tube to replace the factory tube connecting the bottom/top frame rails. Used 9/16" grade 8 bolts through out.
If you have any questions - I'm glad...
