Increasing the air intake in a deuce

Will agree the intake with engine coolant running through it and no inter cooler not the best for making power. The turbo that is spec out for the multi to run at 2600 rpm or 2850 rpm for the LDS and make good power in all the RPM range. To big and you might loose that range. Saying put a bigger...

Increasing the air intake in a deuce

You would be surprised at what you get with just a Pyro, FDC bypassed and playing oops adjusting your twin nuts. When we talk about the 7 o clock position on the fuel control unit assembly that is not even a full plunger of fuel. How often do you drive around at 2600 RPM? I would not replace...

    Battery Box Slides

Yea was replying to 162tcat that said his 939 series batteries were next not his Deuce. I had two 939 series one I did the battery relocate and the other I said it was a waist of my time and money. I was just pointing out in the 939 series as long as they as tied down correct and sealed...

    5 gallon fuel can mounting

Broken left femur, left hand nerve damage and right eye loss of some sight. Yea no fun there just glad it was a company truck that hit me and had 300k insurance. Bad was it was my new truck with little mileage good was I had gap insurance and truck got paid off by the insurance.

    Battery Box Slides

Yea 162tcat while the 939 series batteries seem to be in a strange place it also will keep them from shorting in salt water so higher is better. Had my batteries shorting in just brackish salt water in my 816. My 939 series came with 6T sealed batteries under the passenger seat so safe around...

    5 gallon fuel can mounting

Yep best place. Water on mud flap not fuel in case of accident no fuel spill. I do not know about everywhere but Fl. if you caused the accident you pay for the clean up and just guessing fuel spill clean up is $$$. Not my fault so I did not have to pay and no fuel spill still clean up to the...

    Only cause you asked nice.

    Tachograph questions

Biggest problem is if you do not feed him he will eat the pencil and then you have to replace the pencil. He is pretty good at telling speed and RPM for some reason.

    Tachograph questions

It will tell if a driver is driving like a mad man bumping the governor all the time.

Can't get the engine to idle

I still want to know why there is low idle pressure. So when you get the new filter changed double check pressures. On a side note it really does not need the 30 psi at idle to start and Idle. Had a truck with the system over pressure valve on the secondary removed and truck still started and...

    Runaway Deuce engine

Yep about the same years no sticky on my Deuce when I sold it. The old Detroit 2 stroke with a stuck rack and then pulling the emergency shut down cover on top of the blower then that could suck the blower seals and run off the oil. If your fuel control is working free it is not going to stick...

    Another FDC bypass question

Well glad your happy but. Ok the hill test is ok but you did not say what RPM you were at when took on the hill and what RPM you climbed the hill. AS we know a true dyno is the way to set EGT's but we have to do the best we can. If you do the hill test a couple of time I would make sure...

    Another FDC bypass question

The close to correct fuel adjustment will be a truck size puff of black unburnt fuel till the turbo spools and you up and running then clearing as you reach higher speeds /RPM. Incorrect fuel setting a mile long black soot cloud will kill all mosquitoes in the area and most likely piss off the...

    Runaway Deuce engine

As long as the fuel control unit assembly under the timing cover / shut down rod is working correct and moving free the shut down cable will always shut down the motor. Before I try and start any multi fuel I do not know I remove the two screws on the timing cover shut down rod and make sure the...

    Another FDC bypass question

When looking at the FDC wedge plate you will see the taper or how it looks like a wedge. When FDC is working and engine running it goes to the setting for what fuel you are running and stays there or higher on the ramp decreasing fuel but as said going to working specs. Then we bypass and the...

    Rebuilding the Injection pump

Since digging into the TM's again I was wrong and the FDC with is pressure regulating valve and orifice keep the pressure at 20/ 21 psi. So as soon as the engine starts and we have the 30 psi min. the FDC goes to the setting for that fuel and stays there. Page 1-30 /1-31 TM paragraph C. The 60...

    New injector pump. Wont start

Yea I am hearing what you are typing and myself I would double check timing first. Plus there are two ways of checking TDC compression stroke.
