I would look at the TM's and verify what wire you want to splice into for the accessory on/off control with a power meter. The low current needed shouldn't mess with anything, but at least it has a fuse so that's good.
I'd just wire it up like an amplifier, or at least how they used too in most...
Also, I always measure things in amps on my MV. I don't care what the wattage is, amps is what everything is measured by down to the wire. Keep in mind, like the table above, if you do the equation correctly, so a light that draws 5 amps at 12v will only draw 2.5 amps at 24v. You could go by...
My only suggestion would be to run a fused power lead to a battery cutoff switch before wiring to any fuse block, relays, or switch panel. Be easier to do this as well vs tapping into a lead on the accessory switch and imo, a safer route in case there was a short or power surge, and further...
Congrats on the new to you truck. Good community here with good people. I highly recommend trying to attend at least one of the rally's if possible. It's fun, lots of conversation, and it's nice to put a face to the name. Like others said, we enjoy our pictures, to us, when we hear someone got a...
Past few months, I've been specifically using my deuce to go grocery shopping. I like to shop and get enough goods for a couple weeks at a time and a family of five, that's a cart full. With wind, rain, and snow, the cargo cover keeps it all dry and no worries of stuff blowing out from the wind...
Another option would be mounting the lights on the bumper, without the guard if possible, but mounting them just outside the last bolt from the frame support, it won't interfere with the headlights and the wiring can be ran inside the bumper and on the inside of the frame. If you don't want to...
I don't mind a discussion and I know it's hard sometimes to tell the tone through text, but it's all good.
However, through the nature of this post and the system shown is my reasoning. Like you said, both do have byproducts, but depending on the system, can be safer or potentially be less...
Just doesn't seem like a good idea to me. It's one thing to have diesel heat in a garage or in the truck while driving, you're awake and can control the ventilation and such. Any thing related to an RV or at time of sleep, it's just easier to go with a propane heater. At least the tank can be...
That's good news! Sometimes the float in the FDC gets sticky too, especially if running alternative fuels, which can cause this effect which I've experienced. Hard to start, even with starter fluid, won't idle, and will stall anytime if left to idle no matter how warm or cold the engine was.
So only 39 people voted?? Really? We had over 60 votes in some of these MV of the month challenges. There's over a thousand members on here, surely it won't kill y'all to take a few mins and vote, this is after all, the MV of the year!
Looks beautiful! I rarely see M54's in good shape now days. What's nice is parts commonality between that and the deuce. Any plans or ideas in mind for the big red machine?
I would search for forum here and see what other members have used for batteries. Depending on your local Walmart, they might have the size and the cca you need, but I know none around me do. You can also call up junk yards to see what they have for batteries or search online for any local places.
For recoveries, I would highly suggest a kinetic rope. It's hard to judge when the slack is gone in a tow rope and while it doesn't pull hard on our truck due to the weight, it does on cars, SUV's, and pick ups. Using the winch is also a great idea for a slow and strong pull to reduce the...
