Volt meter wrong and batteries die

OK, I want to take the entire dash out anyway to clean and to remove brake treadle valve, not captive nuts! Need access to back side of front as it got hit and very bent up. This 18 ga steel is hard to work with! Thanks

Volt meter wrong and batteries die

Ron, Thanks, no I don't see how anything could have been on. Do the wires for 12 volt meter go directly somewhere I could access they without taking dash out? Tom

Volt meter wrong and batteries die

OK, with disconnect switch on batt drain is 40 ma, with switch off drain is 5 ma. batts should last a year at that draw! maybe just a troll under the truck?

    In what way?

Volt meter wrong and batteries die

Right but a meter on the batteries shows correct charging voltage. I know that doesn't account for the drain, alt was cold. when I got the truck it had sat for 1 year and the batteries had frozen but 3 of them recovered. I replaced all 4 just because. At first 12 volt meter on dash worked correctly.

Volt meter wrong and batteries die

Now I know that sounds simple but, 2006 A1R 7000 miles total. 4 new batteries charged and installed. 24 v meter on dash shows 24, 12 v meter on dash shows right at the yellow/green and constantly moves up and down while meter on low set of batteries shows constant 14 volt. Meter on high set...

CTIS schrader valve and kneeling valve assembly

why not just fix it correctly? there is an o ring inside the valve where it screws onto the valve stem. yours is bad if it leaks. 7mm id x 11mm od O ring i.e 2mm cross section. easy to find. by the way this is a pressure regulated valve, it will only lower tire pressure to a set point.

    Need a wheel CTIS elbow.

why is the 'kneeling' valve only for the spare? so says parts info. what does it do? mine has air leak in any position and I don't understand what it is meant to do.

    FMTV High Speed Gears

2 plus shipping crate is 359 lbs, about 160 lbs each. to Germany would be VERY expensive, UPS is $1200 to $1600 so would have to be ocean freight.

    FMTV High Speed Gears

Ok, I was not fully aware of all that, so what are the chances of diffs from a meritor axle of say 2006 fitting a rockwell axle of 1998? I would think that since it is for the Mil they would all have to be the same?
  18. m-35tom

    FMTV High Speed Gears

I have never heard of Rockwell making axles for the LMTV. Are other diffs interchangeable ?
