    M105 tire conversion

My biggest problem is keeping the soap water solution going. With our heat, it dries up in the damn squirt bottle. I'll tend to the educational video when it cools off later in the year. D

Gear Fluid Life Longevity and Brake [Wheel] Cylinder Rubber Longevity [2-Fold Question]

I'm not that far from you, here in Hidden Valley, SW of Maricopa. Dennis

    M105 tire conversion

I tried to find a decent video on YouTube showing how to do it, none of them are correct, but they did the job with a lot more work and improper tools. I've been doing all my own MV tire work for many years, and with the right technique it is not a big deal. I'm going to have to make my own...

Shifting techniques of experienced Deuce Drivers

All Spicer 3053 trans are quirky, and most are in the 'can't find it, grind it ' club. Never seen two act the same, and all of them have a 4-5 shift 'notch'. Funny tho, the 3052 as found in the gassers are smoother, prolly 'cause of the way Spicer made the multifuel trans a 5th over with...

Shifting techniques of experienced Deuce Drivers

Stirring the gears in a big rig is an art form. Turning gear teeth into shiny bits in the oil is not...

Shifting techniques of experienced Deuce Drivers

Ha, you guys would have a cow wrestling a 5 & 4 twin stick crashbox. Well, some of us older guys maybe know what I'm talking about. I've driven two Internationals (a 10-wheel tractor and a two axle dump) over the years. Not a synchro in sight, and definitely a learning experience!

    M37 fuel tank

I've strapped them to the front of my cement mixer with a couple handfulls of old bearing balls and laundry soap. Run it for an hour, you ought to see the gunk that gets out of it. Noisy, tho...

    Air horn setup?

On the stock deuce and 5-ton air horns, the electric valve is screwed into the horn body directly. They are very loud, and being tuned to a tri-tone (dissonant), so are very nerve shattering to others as they should be: GTFOMW! Horns from civvy tucks won't be any louder or effective.

Shifting techniques of experienced Deuce Drivers

That's the way I shift my M54A1 on hills. Lo & Hi splits. It does help that the transfer is synchronized.

My son found this HMMVW parked in a drivway in TX. Unusual

We'd call that a target of opportunity out here...

    1950s M123 Gasser Engine knock

I've seen a couple engine knocks in tacticals be broken accessory brackets (alternator/generator or compressor). It was really tough to find them, but easier than an overhaul...

Dual-circuit Hydromax brakes on M35A2, good air diagram needed.

Brake failures are seldom encountered, when the truck gets regular maintenance on the original air-over-hydraulic system. It worked well for many years on these trucks, and I've never had a failure on my 5 tons.

    M35A2 starting issues

The buzzer is just a "low air pressure" warning. It will buzz until sufficient air (about 80 psi) is present.

    Deuce Outer Windshield Frame

Not yet, I've been out of town a lot. Will do my first opportunity, D

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

He doesn't empty it until a few days go by. By then, they are all dead.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

My neighbor wears a beekeeper suit and uses a shop vac to just suck them up. Works dandy.
